Are they still doing this at Blue Sky Cellar? Where exactly is the meet? Is it really only 10:30-1:30? Such a short window! Anything else you think I should know?
If you're looking for a certain character, find out what the rotation schedule is. We were there on Friday. and when we walked up, Daisy was the one inside. Well, Daisy was the only character we had already been able to meet with that day. (In fact, the only character in DCA, since it had been raining the other days.) However, we found out that Stitch would be there in 10 mins, so we waited for him. The grand-kids had a great time with him.
That's why I was asking, I know the info on the Disney Rewards site is not always up to date, but it currently says:
Just present your Disney Visa Card to enter this exclusive event, offered daily 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM at the Walt Disney Imagineering Blue Sky Cellar at Disney California Adventure® Park, next to the Golden Vine Winery and Wine Country Trattoria Restaurant. Note: This is a temporary location and will return to Hollywood Land in late December 2014.
I'm a Disney Visa holder and did this about a month ago.
The meet and greet is in the Hollywood area, near the Monsters Inc ride and the Mad T party stage area. There is a single cast member standing at podium monitoring the area who will check your Visa card before letting you in. Also, you card has to be current--if its expired you will be turned away (watched this happen to a family ahead of me). Backdrop for the pictures was a wall that said "California Adventure" with some plants. Not the most exciting of backgrounds, but crowds for this were minimal. From what I've heard the characters can be random, we got Minnie Mouse on our visit.
You pick up your free picture at a photoshop near the front enterance of DCA.
Since it acknowledges that it's a temporary location, and since changes are happening in the Hollywood Land area right now, I'd check the Blue Sky Cellar first, then try the regular location. They are not that far apart. You could also try asking DisneylandToday on Twitter, they usually respond to these types of questions same day during park hours.
We noticed the sign for the meet and greet by blue sky cellars on our last day of our trip last week (fri the 5th). We had been there all week and it was the first we noticed it not saying it wasn't there before then though! But the meet and greet has definitely moved.
