Virtual Queues for Tiana and Guardians - Final Day Feb 24, 2025

Monday was a bit of an anomoly. It was dark grey & chilly all day. Not the best day to judge TBA. We rode with LLP at 4:45, and standby was 60. My guess is that it will be no different than Splash was, when the dust settles. It will remain a little inflated while BTM remains closed (long way to go there based on what we saw from the railroad).

Of course, as we waited for the train right after our ride, TBA went down, sending 1,000+ people out of the queue dejected. Some things never change.

Near the very front of the early entry RD pack for GoG Tuesday, of course it was a walk on, but we circled back for a 2nd ride immediately. SB was posted at 45, actual was more like 10-15 max. That was just a couple of minutes before reg opening when we re-entered.

With a 9pm close, we queued up again at 7:35. Wait was posted as 65. Not inflated at all. It was pretty accurate. 55 to preshow, and another 10 inside. Off at about 8:45.

We did not ride again, as feet were toast by then, but did wander by the entrance. The line was slightly longer, wait was still posted at 65. My guess, based on what we had just experienced, was that there was NO line stacking or inflation of wait times happening at all. If anything, it might have been a little longer, but not by much. It's an hour wait from the door to the building at that time of day, give or take. If the line spills outside, you will wait that much longer.

Overall crowds were moderate for both days. Maybe 5 out of 10.
Guardians:

On Tuesday, the posted wait for Guardians was 50 minutes near the end of the evening with no actual wait times reported.

On Wednesday, the posted wait time was 75 minutes with actual reported wait time of 40 just before closing.

It does look like the line stacking was a little more subtle than usual.

I'm glad the VQs are gone. Having to be up to get the 7am one was a big negative to the Disney vacation experience the past few years.
I would rather be up at 7AM on PJs at the comfort of my resort than being up 3-4 times longer at the standby line ...

don't like 7 aM? there is always the 1pm VQ, that everyone gets if they are in the park (it takes several minutes to sell out ).

Again, to each their own, but V/Q I believe is better for most people in terms of convenience (considering the 1 pm drop, because a lot of times is impossible to get the 7am drop)

The biggest drawback of the Virtual Queue is that it eliminates the possibility of multiple re-rides later in the evening when the standby lines are the shortest of the day. We are very pleased with this change.

Sure, there are advantages and disadvantages of each system.
But to your point, unless it is a low crowd season and/EEH, I don't see how many times you can ride GoG in a row. Tron has been 50 min stand by line at the best when I was in February, which is low season ( for comparison).

Regardless, you are correct, if you don't want to pay for lightning lane and don't have EEH extra VQ, you could only ride once a day

Was that standby time for Tron just the posted wait time or the actual wait? I looked at stats for Tron from last night, and about a half hour before close the posted wait time was 55 minutes while the actual reported wait was 25.

Members here said the same thing about Rise of the Resistance when it went to standby. We've been able to hit it up to three times per visit just by waiting for the last hour or so of operation even in the middle of summer. I haven't seen a wait time posted below 80 minutes, but our actual waits are generally 20 minutes or less.

I think the biggest drawbacks to VQ is that not everyone can get one. At least this way, if someone really wants to ride they can wait in line for it. I just think it makes it a little more fair.
I’ve missed VQ a couple of times, it’s annoying and you might have to adjust your schedule around the 1:00 drop (or just not bother).

Agreed. While I got VQ every time we tried last spring break (between GoG and Tron), I’d rather this system. Go wait if you want to, but you shouldn’t be locked out if you don’t click the button within 2 seconds.

When I was at MK 10 days ago , the wait times were pretty accurate for Tron at least. Can't comment on Rise since I have only done LLSP for it

We’ll be at WDW for Spring Break. Count me as another that is so glad the VQ is over. I was there a few weeks ago and missed the 7 am VQ for guardians on both of my Epcot days. I was able to secure one at the 1 pm drop, but it was a solid 1 hour wait after getting in line at 7:30 pm. Line was to the entrance. Second day I didn’t try as I wasn’t going to be in Epcot that evening to use it.

I'm still of the mind that Splash Mountain was a better ride than Tiana's. And when I first got on Guardians, I was hoping it would be another Rise of The Resistance kind ride. I was disappointed that its basically Space Mountain with a guardians of the galaxy skin. Neither, of these two rides at least in my opinion bring anything new to the equation.

I also agree that TBA is a bit of a disappointment. I just feel that the story is a little disjointed and might have been set up better given the length of the ride. I completely understand why the change was made. WDW waited far too long to make the theme change from a movie they had to completely bury in "the vault", due to incredibly obvious racist themes. This wasn't obvious on Splash Mountain the ride, but those that know Song of the South should understand.

I very much disagree on Guardians, however. Yes, it IS a lot like like Space Mountain (on steroids). But the ride vehicles are innovative, the music great (especially for those of us that lived through the 80's), and it feels so smooth - I feel like the entire train "dances" with the music. Add in the bit of humor in the writing for the characters, and I think it's a real winner.

We have spent many days in WDW parks over the last 20+ years, but hadn't been since a few months before Tron opened. I must say, I think Tron was the most disappointing addition for us. It's better in the front car than in the middle, but still - very short, and nothing to really make it stand out as a Disney level ride - circa 2020s.

what ? GoG has absolutely NOTHING to do with Space mountain other than is a dark ride Lol.

The mechanics of the ride, speed, story, it is 100% different.

Yeah, and Im an 80's kid and and huge Marvel Fan. But, it just doesnt do it for me. I love the pre-ride, the ride itself, I think its ok. When it was announced an what not, I was expecting something more interactive like rise of the resistance or smugglers run.

I hear you, I am 80s kid as well.

Taste is so subjective, like GoG is so much better for me than Rise for example, it is not even close.

Having said that, I will admit I am not a huge fan of SW, but just analyzing the ride itself. cheers

Does anyone have information on how the wait times were during Extended Evening hours? Especially for those who jumped in the line during the last few mins of EE. Thanks!

Last night, the posted wait time for Guardians right at the end of Extended Evening hours was 40 minutes. No actual wait times were reported during the last hour of EEH though. Based on regular park days over the past week, I would expect that the actual wait was about half of the posted wait.

For comparison purposes, at 10 pm last night the posted wait was 70 while the actual reported wait was 40.

Tiana's does not participate in EEH so there won't be any stats for that attraction. Last night, it ended the evening with a 15 minutes posted wait.
