Virtual Queue? Please teach me.

I've never done a virtual queue, so I have no idea what one is. But this trip, I'm specifically interested in the virtual queue for Gideons cookies. How does it work? Do I go there, and find out if they're using the virtual queue and if they are, do I stand in line to join? Then stand in another line when they text me to come back? Will they tell me when I join the virtual queue about how long that may be?

Please help!

You got it.

You go to the store and get in a line. You give them your number. They send you a text when it's your turn.

Yes, they give you some idea how long before they text you - but it's not very accurate.

I don't think they give you a window, but they ask you to get back within 15 minutes of the text. They won't turn you away if you show up later in the day.

IF they have the VQ (and, generally, that will be on weekends only), they will be taking names and phone numbers to the right of the front doors. I have never experienced much of a line to set up my spot in the VQ. They estimate your wait time. For me, it has been a bit over-stated. When they text you, return to wait in line. Typically, it is about a 15-20 minute wait from that point. Experiences vary, of course, but this has been mine over 6-7 visits to Gideon’s in 2023.

I saw that line late last night ( Sunday) … and thought it would be fun to enter that store interior in the dark of night.
I guess that is one store interior I will never see unless there magically is

So Sorry. Somehow it ended up on the Universal boards; and they reminded me it needed to be moved here. Maybe a moderator moved it because I said I didn't know how to move it, as well as I rewrote it.

We used the virtual queue a couple weeks ago. We were quoted a 3 hour wait in the virtual queue. We had just gotten there and wanted to shop a bit and then had a dining reservation so no concerns for us about the wait. We actually got the text back in less than 2 hours as we were finishing our meal at Terralinas and settling the check. We waited at Gideons about 15-20 minutes once we returned to the line. Because we were still wandering shops and having dinner, our time went very quick (plus was a lot shorter than quoted).
