Virgin's DTD check in + DME has anyone done this?

I am flying to Orlando with Virgin and am thinking of doing the following. Checking in my main luggage with Virgin going back to the hotel storing my hand luggage and spending the last day in the park and travelling back to the airport with disney magic express. Has anyone done it this way?

We have used DTD check in and would highly recommend it.

A great way of getting rid of your cases early and sets you up for a good last day, it's a big advantage not having to take your luggage to the airport.

Sorry never used DME.

You must use D T D check in it gives you a whole day to do want you want to Parks or Pool its a nice way to finish your holiday off.

D T D check in we used this in November and it was so much easier getting rid of your cases early and then we spent the rest of the day in DTD and Disneyquest also TL is just across the road.

Its sooo much easier, and if like me you have a last minute panic that you still want to check in more luggage then you can do this at the airport later too. Just tell Virgin person that is floating about by the queue and they will get a label for you then you dump luggage in oversize baggage.
Think it costs $5 each but well worth it.

I think I might be tempted to leave my bags with Bell Services at the resort and head straight to a park for opening. Instead of taking them all the way to DTD (by bus?), then having to get a transfer to another resort to get to a park (DTD does not run buses direct to the parks) and then having to get another bus back to my resort to get picked up for DME.

The only snag then is you will have to check in your bags at MCO, but that may actually be quicker than all the bus transfers you will have to do otherwise?

If you have a car then I think doing the DTD check in works extremely well but I guess you might not if you are considering DME.
