VirginMobile in the parks

Does anyone know if VirginMobile cell phones get a signal in the parks? We are thinking of taking these cells instead of walkie-talkies to keep in contact when the family splits this year.

yep, both dh and I use virgin at wdw with no problem. We usually text to keep costs down.

Virgin gets pretty good signals in the park. Just keep in mind the usual cellphone problems - i.e. you might not get a signal in the middle of a building.

Also - if you are ever reseaching phone coverage, keep in mind that Virgin doesn't have their own network - they use Sprints. So anyplace that has good Sprint coverage will work fine with Virgin.

We've used our Virgin phone in the parks and resorts for the last 2 years and never had a problem.We even used them during hurricane Jeanne when some of the resort phones had problems.When our family members in our home state couldn't get in touch with us on the resort phones they had no problem reaching us on our Virgin phones.We take ours on every trip and have never had a problem what so ever.

We have used Virgin mobile in the parks and it works really well.

Another positive experience with Virgin in the parks. They only place I remember having problems was when we were in line for Soarin'. DD called while I was in line and it did not come through until we were back in the food area of the building.
My sister has cingular and has many problems with reception when we are in the parks.
