Virginia beach - help please....

I can't speak much on restaurants in VA Beach, but we go to Williamsburg/Busch Gardens almost weekly. Two restaurants we love to hit up are Rocco's (Barbeque) and Holy Mackerel (Seafood). Both are excellent and a great value.

I used to travel weekly for work, so I am particular on hotels. I would also suggest sticking with chains. Hilton Garden Inn, Hampton Inn, Courtyard, Fairfield all tend to be fairly consistent nationwide.

Thanks for your help everyone. I am still in the planning stages.

isaacsfam: I am thinking of staying at the downtown hilton town center on the first night because it is so much cheaper and then the next morning move on to the $300/night Hilton Garden Inn. We could stay at the Garden Inn for three or four nights and then stay somewhere in Williamsburg and see Williamsburg and Busch Gardens. Is there a hotel that you suggest that is cheaper than the Garden Inn? It is so hard to pick a hotel from MA. I am scouring the internet for proximity to the ocean and reviews for cleanliness. Also, do you have a suggestion for a hotel when we visit Williamsburg? I loved your other suggestions thank you and please keep them coming.

Someone else suggested hotels are just as nice near the Garden Inn or across the street but I don't know how to find them on the internet. Anyone have any ideas I would welcome them. I don't cherish the thought of hotels that allow dogs.
Go to Trip Advisor, and you'll see ratings and locations of all VB hotels. Basically oceanfront is Atlantic Ave. Across the street is Pacific.

The Cheese Shop in Merchant's Square in Williamsburg is great for a sandwich. Peter Chang's on Richmond Road (which is also Rt. 60) in Williamsburg is a great Chinese restaurant ~ http://peterchangrestaurant.com/

Eating at one of the colonial taverns in colonial Wmsbrg is fun. Last time I was up there in the spring, you didn't need reservations for lunch but you did for dinner. I would check to make sure if that's still the case where you want to eat.

Also on Richmond Rd. are all the chain and fast food restaurants, what seems like a million waffle houses, and lots of outlet shopping :)
