virgin seats

Has anyone recently reserved their seats with virgin.
we are now 60 days 20 hours .so i logged in to see if there was any change and (view or change your sea) comes up
But when i submit my choice
(We're sorry, the seat(s) you have chosen are not available. You are still shown in your original seat(s).)
This is what has come up.over and over again and there are no assigned seats
So i chat online to a representative who tells me i am not within the 60 days yet.I understand that but it is giving me the option.
Do i keep trying or is it safe to wait until tomorrow ?

The seat map does sometimes appear before you can book. They should change the message really - you need to try at 8am tomorrow

Booked ours last week. Exactly as you say, before 8 am at the 60 days point, it showed me the seat layout but I couldn't select the seats until the dot of 8am.

The new process is : If you are flying after April 1st you will be charged £25 per person each way to select an economy seat. (no charge or PE or Upper Class) BUT if you booked your flight before this was announced in December 2013 then you will not be charged.

Thats an extra £100 for us. I do not think I will bother and take the risk. As 4 going will just try and get there early and hope for 4 together .

That's absolutely outrageous given what they already charge. We are flying PE in May, but that's unusual for us. Generally fly economy. This was a glitch thing and PE came out cheaper. I'll say it again. Outrageous.

You will be able to check in 24 hours before and choose your seat.Apparently BA also do this

No way will I pay £150 extra for us to do this. We fly with them in July but would rather sit apart than pay.

We're travelling in Aug, but booked back in Nov, so after double checking the confusing info it looks like we'll be able to chose our seats from 1st April. Last time I checked I thought it said we'd have to pay, so maybe there was backlash from passengers who'd booked before the new rules came into force.
You almost need a flowchart to work out what rule applies to you though...

Who can I pay to ensure I am NOT sat with my children.

Is there anywhere I can find out what plane we are on to figure out the seat configuration so when I can book I can get the best option for us hopefully.
