Does anyone know of the recent changes to the seating request policy for the rows of 2 seats at the rear of the aircraft applies to all Virgin flights?

We've just booked a trip to California for October ( ), flying Virgin Heathrow to San Francisco, and I have made our seating requests online, selecting the sets of 2 seats. Are these seats ultimately being removed from the requesting system on all flights, or is it specific to the Orlando routes? i.e. can I sit back and wait for check-in, or should I change these seats now to our second choice, rather than waiting to be booted out by the system?

We had the 2 seats at the back reserved for our last trip and I expected them to be changed and they weren't. I can only think that some of the sets of 2 seats you can't reserve but some you still can. Ive been able to reserve the 2 again for this years trip :goodvibes

For our last 2 trips we had those seats requested (to Orlando) and were moved. However I noticed well in advance and re-moved ourselves to better seats (but not as good as the originals :sad2: ).
Since you have booked recently, ie since the new policy, you may be OK.
I would keep them and just keep checking the website frequently to make sure you still have them!
Sooooo jealous about you going to California, we're hoping to go in 2010, hope you have a fantastic time!! :thumbsup2

The changes only relate to the Gatwick fleet so as you are flying from Heathrow you should be ok :goodvibes

Can someone let me know what the changes are? :confused3

We're booked on a Manchester Flight in June and have 2 seats booked at the rear of the plane - will these be affected?

TIA

I booked our seating when we flew recently - and never got it. Nothing special just 4 in the middle but they changed the seats both ways.

Virgin have added extra leg room seats that are available for a charge at check in. They are on all the LGW/MAN based planes.

It has been that some of the seats are no longer prebookable including some of the 2's at the rear of the plane.

You might just want to check your seats :goodvibes
