Does anyone know if it's possible to upgrade, using Frequent Flyer points, if you've booked through VH?

Also is it possible to pay, in advance, to check in an extra bag for the flight home?

Thanks :flower3:

It seems that you would need internet access to pay in advance for your extra bag for return flights. I emailed them and asked them some months back as I wasn't sure if I would be taking my laptop and they said it is 24 hours in advance for each leg of the journey. This may have changed in the last few months but that is the latest I have in writing.

Ok.......I'd already emailed the customer care centre so imagine they'll tell me the same :thumbsup2

Well not necessarily I suppose. If they changed their policy then you may be able to report an update. It would be nice if you post a report of what they say anyway though for anyone else who is wondering. As I said, I asked in Marc or April so my feedback may not be bang up to date.

You can only upgrade an economy flight if it is one of three flight 'codes'. If you book the cheapest economy fare then you can't use points to upgrade.

The lfight codes valid for points upgrades are:

Y, B, L

Not sure what the flight code is for a VH booked flight.

Hi Tim,
Usually V for VH bookings. http://v-flyer.com/the-toolbox/fare-codes?code=V
"You cannot use Flying Club Miles to upgrade this fare to a Premium Economy or Upper Class Reward fare"

Thanks :)

They've got back to me and explained I can exchange my airmiles for Virgin vouchers but I'll probably keep saving them up to fly off somewhere else soon ;)

About the extra bag....Apparently I can check it in online, at check in, for £32 or £40 at the airport :thumbsup2

What e-mail did you use as i have been wanting to contact them? Also what can you use the virgin vouchers for and how much do you get?

Just the fly drive address: customer.services@fly.virgin.com

In light of this, UK Flying Club members only who book package holidays through Virgin Holidays are offered the opportunity to redeem their miles in exchange for a Virgin Holidays voucher/s. The following redemption levels apply:

* 10,000 Flying Club miles = GBP£50.00 voucher
* 20,000 Flying Club miles = GBP£100.00 voucher
