We have a quote from Virgin for a 16 night hol next Oct.Is this any good?

Fly from Gatwick 12 th Oct 11.15.
Arrive at MCO
8 nights at All Star Movies
Then Sat 20th Oct go to Port C for a 7 night cruise ( NOT included in the quote, this was booked seperatley with DU)
Then arrive Sun 28th Oct at port about 9am, fly from MCO at 19.55

NO CAR included, we think we will book our own, on line.

2 adults and 1 child 5 yrs. £2173

I understand we might be able to do a package cheaper, but we are limited to flight times as we must go back to Uk on Sun 28th so DH is in work on Tue 30th.

Any thoughts please............

Probably can't book it that far ahead yet, but it's worth putting the exact same details into Expedia as soon as you can book for those dates - typically they work out much cheaper than going direct to Virgin, even though you have the same flight, accommodation etc.

Sounds good to me, I just did the Expedia option for our holiday in December and it came out £400 more expensive with Expedia for exactly the same flight/hotel and car (different hire co though). So if it is what you want and you are tied to dates then I would go for it :)

As it is a tailor made package then no online discounts apply but if you are a FVC or a Virign Atlantic Flying Club member could get a 10% discount! I guess as you aren't using any VH services for a week they have added the fee on which may mean using their car hire is actually more beneficial to you in the long run with 10% off and no added fee.

have you priced it through tcd?

we priced it with both virgin and tcd and tcd won lol

Sounds good to me too. We also tried Expedia and it came out more expensive.

Do you mean then that they charged £2173 for the 8 nights at ASM??
That seems a lot if this is the case.
We are going October this year for 3 weeks (including 1 of the weeks is half term) 2 adults & 1 teen - 1 week ASM, 1 week i-drive & 1 week Clearwater for about the same price! We booked from Virgin holidays preview brochure last April, they have one out now for 2007. (no tickets or car included in that price though)
Good luck :goodvibes

Another good operator is Dial a flight. We use them all the time not just to go to Florida but all over. They always give good quotes and are willing to price match. I always find it better to give them a ring the number is on thier web site. Good luck

I have been taught a lesson re the fdangers of booking early with virgin see "virgin beware" post

Looks like a good deal. You could try a search for flights only and ask your DU agent for a quote for 8 nights at ASM.

Good luck :goodvibes
