Hi - thanks to everyone who has kindly answered my questions about flights in the past. I've got one more.

Would anyone know why, when pricing up flights on the Virgin Atlantic website, it quotes me a price £500 higher per person for 2 adults flying (£2100pp) than it does when I put in that it's only 1 adult flying (£1600pp). :confused3

Hi

At a guess it is probably to do with fare classes - there might only be one seat available at the lower price.

When you are looking at the flights if you look at the fare breakdown it will give you the fare class. Fare classes are explained on V-Flyer.

Ah Elise, you are a genius!

That indeed does seem to be the case. D'oh!

Many thanks for taking the time to respond!

This happened to me when booking my flights for December - I had to book 2 seats at the lower price & 2 at the higher!

I had to book 2 x 2 seats as we were using different peoples airmiles. Had a bit of a fit when we went to book the second 2 and it said there were no fares at that price and then quoted the higher price - panic over though as they were only about £2.00 more each!! :cheer2:
