Have also posted in the California forums (I know this is for Florida but had a feeling that someone reading may have experience......)

We are flying to Los Angeles on 1st Aug with Virgin and for the first time have taken the plunge and are in Premium Economy.

I just thought someone reading this forum may have also been to Los Angeles and flown PE with Virgin........would love to know how you found it?? LOL- I know you're going to tell me there's not going back to Economy after this trip!! ;)

There's no going back to Economy after this trip! ;) We did LHR-SFO then LAX-LHR last year in PE and it was great. The Heathrow fleet have the re-furbished PE seats but better than that they also have the V:Port entertainment system where you can start the films when YOU want to and pause them when the cabin crew come round etc.

Unfortunately you will also notice the difference if you ever do Gatwick-Orlando in PE which don't have the video on demand. :sad2:

Enjoy your trip! :thumbsup2

Never flown PE but we did this route in economy. Even economy is way better than the Orlando routes. Nice plane and very friendly staff, just how the Orlando routes used to be.

I'll be interested to hear your views when you get back as we've splurged for PE on our trip to northern California (Heathrow- San Francisco) in October :cool1:

I understand the Heathrow fleet has the new seats and entertainment but, unlike the Gatwick fleet, there are no PE seats upstairs. I'd be interested to know what the downstairs PE section on the Heathrow fleet is like (although, as this is our first time PE, I've got nothing to compare it with anyway!) :upsidedow

Hi,
we done this journey a few weeks ago, and i have to say that it is fantastic, much much better than the LGW - MCO route. The Flight attendents were great and the v-port entertainment system is sooooo much better.
your in for a real treat and i can asure you that you will always want to fly PE from now on!
any other questions just ask!

enjoy LA, its a great place to visit!

We flew PE from LHR to LAX last summer and had a great experience. The seats were very comfy, they seemed wider than the Gatwick planes, maybe because of where the TV equimpent is kept, the food was much nicer than the Gatwick route, the TV system was much better. The fact that we were not upstairs didn't bother me, we still had our own small cabin and the staff were great.
Unfortunately on that trip we flew back from Las Vegas to Gatwick (still in PE) and we really noticed the difference between the 2 services. To the point where this summer we are not paying the extra for the PE seats to Orlando as we don't feel they are worth it compared to the LHR fleet.
