Virgin pre-seating change

If anyone wants to keep an eye on their seat / meal requests you can view your booking details online when you have joined the virgin flying club . ten minutes after I booked our seats this morning the seat numbers appeared on my booking and I can check on them whenever I like. The main reason for joining is still of course collecting points for free flights but this is a useful extra.

I also managed to get through this morning and book our seats for oct 23rd (61 DEFG)

DH phoned this am and asked to book for end of Oct and next March . The girl didn't know what he was talking about but agreed to enter them into the computer which happily accepted the Oct ones. She did say she was just back from holiday!
Have to leave the March ones til tomorrow because Special Needs Dept isn't open til then and we need to talk to them about
DD's seating.

Just got off the phone to a very helpful guy who said "its just been changed from today and your the first person I have tried so lets see what happens" and 2 minutes later I have 62A and C for both the 14th November (to Los Angeles) and the the 21st November (back from Las Vegas) It now seams even closer

I tried to look at my details on VA site but it asks for booking reference number and mine is with a travel agent and it doesn't accept this.

Did you book with Virgin or Virgin Holidays?

we booked with VA direct and got a ref no like this x0xx00 where 0 is a number x a letter.

maybe if you call your T Agent or VA they can give you the correct ref.

62 A C and 63 A C on the way there and the same on the way back for December.

are you going as a family of 4?i ask this because i see you have booked rows 62 and 63 ac when i asked for 2 sets of 2's the lady told me that virgin will only allocate 1 window per family so i had to settle for 62 a c and and then 2 seats in the row of 4 so we will be seperated by the aisle

The girl offered me those rows without me even asking for them and I said to her that i thought it was only 1 window seat per family and she said it mostly applies to further down the plane where you have the 3 4 3 configuration and that i could have 2 x 2 seats. i was prepared to have the same as you but as she offered them to me i took them!

I have 2 toddlers and they havent flown before so Iwas quite pleased to get these seats. I think if i had of asked for 2 window seats in the 3 sections they would have said no, as they would have ended up with 2 odd seats.

It seems that virgin have a communication problem and not all the staff are following the same guidelines. The girls yesterday lunchtime still wasnt aware that the time had changed to book seats to 11 months!

perhaps the other rows were reserved?
