Virgin Plane Seating

Arrr - Silly Virgin Planes.

When we first booked our flights - not sure what plane it was but the seats went 2-4-2 - so booked a window and a Aisle.

I logged on yesterday to add my flying club number and they have changed the plane to a 3-4-3 seating arrangement, we received no notification of this. My DH loves the Window and I have to have an Aisle (as I'm up and down like a crazy) so we always book the two seats at the back (A&C). Which we did but now since the change we have a seat in the middle (B).

For the flight going out there, I suppose I'll cave and move into the middle seat (as all the two seats at the back are gone) but on the way back home there are no spare seats and the one if the middle of us has been booked.

Has anyone experienced this problem before? We sent them an email but I doubt it will do any good

Probably just have to hope the person in the middle seat would like to swap.. But if they go for the Aisle I might spend most of the flight annoying them by squeezing past

I wouldn't worry too much about it. I'm fairly certain that, if you ask nicely, whoever is in the middle will have no problem swapping. I doubt very much they'll want to be stuck between you and your DH

We like to have seats in twos as well - there were none on our last flight and we ended up stuck with a rather large gentleman. We let him have the window since I like the aisle. I was dreading it but he went straight to sleep and slept the whole flight through

seat assignments are never guarenteed anyway when you do it online, only once you have your bording cards are they yours

the planes are always changing so it may well be a busy time for them to change it to a 747 as it holds more

I'm sure if they reply it will be the same kind of answer i gave you, when i worked for virgin atlantic i got this question loads

The 2-4-2 configuration is the new Airbus A330.
The 3-4-3 configuration is the old Boeing 747.

Many people have been getting flight changes with VA recently... Including us!

We're now on the A330's outbound & inbound!
