Oh dear :sad1:

Just seen this on Sky News...lets see what dates they pick to strike on :sad2:

From what i heard on the news it sounds like its going to be the middle of July. Fingers crossed it gets sorted by then.

Apparently they would be happy with a 6% pay increase......Wouldnt we all LOL!

Tell me about it!!

I've read on the Telegraph that dates will be released tomorrow if nothing is solved tonight. :sad2:

Just typical I book to fly with virgin and not BA due to them going on strike last year, hopefully it will not be on my dates and it gets resolved quickly.

Sorry to you guys with Virgin, But we went with BA this year lucky us could of been in same situation ....

just keeping everything crossed now and wait till the dates are announced, gutted for everyone

UGHH this is terrible news, DW and MIL flying out on 6th August, myself on the 9th.

What happens to people who have flights booked during the time they are on strike? Are the flights just cancelled? We are flying Virgin Atlantic to Sydney at the end of next month and back again towards the end of August.

Oh no this is just typical  I just hope it doesnt affect too many people and lets hope it is sorted soon. Why do these airlines always go on strike in the main seasons. We dont go till november but I felt sick when I heard this. Pixie dust to all.:cloud9:

Another piece of advice I have just read was to check that your travel insurence covers you for strike action. I just checked ours and luckily it does.

39 days before we are due to fly from Manchester.
Chosen Virgin on last 6 visits, due to direct into MCO and also DTD check in.
Should they choose to wreck my hard earned holiday, I will happily vote with my feet next time booking flights

6% pay rise makes me laugh....if only the service improved by this amount each year
Instead we are faced with reduced cabin staff.
Rant over!

I hope this is sorted without pilots resorting to strike action.

My children's faces when the heard the news today were so sad as they realised it meant that they might not get their long awaited holiday. DS (7) said he is going to send an e-mail to Mr Branson.

guess it's just fingers crossed for now....

just heard on gmtv no agreement has been made with virgin piolets! :( dates of strikes to be confirmed later today

feel so sorry for all the families who plan and pay off very expensive holidays which may now be affected!! im sure when thousands of people are loosing their jobs i wouldnt be demanding payrises, which if granted most definitly will be passed on to the customers!!!!:sad2:

:santa::santa:

Im gutted about this,we fly 28th August with Virgin and ger married in Florida 3 days later :-( if anyone hears anything please post x

I hope things work out for everyone around here with flights with Virgin. I think its disgusting they want a pay rise let alone 6% during the still tough economic times! Shouldn't they be grateful they have a job as there are still 2 million unemployed!

Fingers crossed for you all!

Still no news yet :sad2: I don't think I can watch the news anymore, its driving me insane. As Virgin Atlantic have to give 7 days notice of strike action, does that mean that the first day of possible strikes is now the 29th of June as it is now the 22nd? or is it still the 28th? This stress is winding me up...i'll defiantly need a holiday by the time they announce what is going on :sad1:
