As you may have seen in another post, I have booked a package with virgin including park tickets. I asked if these were voucher or genuine and was told voucher. OK then, so can I exchange my voucher at a ticket window/ guest relations? Er, no, you have to do it at the welcome meeting. WHAT? Now call me cynical, but I do believe Virgin are trying to con me into going to the welcome meeting.

Apparently, I can get round this by tracking down my rep when I arrive to do it straight away, but has anyone ever managed to get hold of a rep when they actually need one? Has anyone else had experience of this? Will my tickets really be waiting for me at check-in and this is all a joke? I want to ride Space Mtn straight away, not midday the following day. :Pinkbounc

Let me know what you think,
Claire

I was always under the imperssion that you pick up your tickets at reception when you check-in - but now I'm curious!

When I purchased tickets off them in resort (with 10% discount for being a Frequent Virgin) they give you a printed out voucher for exchanging at the gates. Either way you do not have to stay at the welcome meeting, but take your tickets and run...

Yes, you get vouchers which you exchange at the main gate when you first visit the parks. (Once for Disney and once for Universal).
But you will need Photo id (Passport) when you exchange them.

Does anyone know if this is the same when staying at disney hotel i thought they would just give us our tickets ( unlimited pass) when we checked in . I am staying at the all star resort and would really want my ticket when i check in the less time messing around the more time for the magic :confused3

unlimited pass will go on your room key as soon as they give it to you its valid
untill the end of the day you check out

I thought this had changed with the advent of MYW, as there isn't a length of stay pass. You are buying the same tickets as an offsite guest so its up to you how many days are on your ticket, even if this is a premium pass. All the other features are still in place though, like charging on your room key.

Hope this is right,
Claire

I'm also staying at Disney and purchased the Ultimate Park Hopper when I booked (although I understand that this will probably get changed to a 21 day Ultimate Ticket), and I figured that they'd still be able to 'attach' it to your room key regardless.

I'm gonna be a little gutted now :( (on the plus side, I received my MVMCP tickets today - Goofy and Donald!). I hope it hasn't changed.. :sad2:

I did the same! Booked my holiday last July when the tickets were still included in the price of your holiday :cool1: I must say though, I am getting increasing worried about which tickets we are now going to receive as there is no clear line from Virgin. :confused3

I emailed them a while ago and asked them about it and the email that came back was that the tickets would still be part of the price of the holiday but they didn't confirm either way which tickets they are.

We are staying onsite - and hope that the tickets are incorporated into the key like they were in 2003 when we went.

Has anyone just got back that can shed some light onto this?? :listen:

Last year we just exchanged the paper voucher for hard tickets at the park(had to show just one passport). It was no hassle at all. This year we have "ultimate"tickets and i am sure it says to hand voucher into hotel reception on arrival. I am at work so cannot check this, if it is any different i will let you know tonight.

5 day to go.....my little girl said this morning" You know when you get really excited about going" and i said yes. She then said "well i have just got really excited ". AHH!! I have been excited for 52 weeks(since we booked it)!!

Looby Loo - that's when I booked. I'd better be given something equivalent to the Park Hopper ticket when I get there! I'll be taking my invoice to prove that I paid for it!

Andrea B - does the same thing apply at Universal/IOD (take voucher along with some photo-ID)?

Why couldn't they have just kept the Park Hopper?! :rotfl:

Yes, same thing at Universal. If i remember (isn't it funny how you forget details!!) we handed the vouchers, at Disney, in at TL. They said at first that you had to go to MK to swop them but i said i wasn't going to do that and in the end they gave them me!! Universal was much easier and you just went to the customer services desk, by the turnstiles. I think it opened about 15 minutes before the park opened so i went and did all the "hard"work whilst the others staked their place in the line! Just another point...you don't have to use your passport. Anything with a photo on it. My husband used his firearms license for identification a couple of times in shops.

:scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

OK now I'm panicking, I also booked early last year and paid for Ultimate Tickets (staying at POR). Our carefully planned out itinery doesn't cater for going to a welcome meeting, in fact when we first get there after dumping the cases in the room and a quick shower we head straight to Magic Kingdom. If we cant get into the parks until after being to a stupid welcome meeting then we are going to be well gutted.

Just home from work and as promised update on vouchers, tickets and stupid welcome meetings!! It states on voucher "disney passes will be issued upon arrival at your disney hotel, you must provide your disney ticket voucher.(This only applies to customers who have purchased the new disney tickets, where vouchers will be issued)"

On the Disney 14 day ultimate ticket voucher it says"Voucher can be exchanged at Guest Services at one of the main theme parks. This voucher is a virgin holidays voucher, billed to virgin holidays. If you are staying in a Disney hotel you must hand this voucher in at check in along with your accommodation"

CLEAR AS MUD!!

Just to add to this thread when we booked our holiday 1year and 1 week ago the tickets were included in the price. When the new tickets were released in January i noticed that they were not as expensive. After 1 email to Virgin i received a refund of the difference(£165).

Clear as mud indeed!

I think that when I get there I'll just demand all my Disney tickets at check-in, and get my Planet Hollywood and Universal/IOD tickets at those locations..
Still though.. I hope the new Ultimate Pass thingy can be attached to your room key.

Andrea - I think I'll email them about the price difference. We'd save about £55 each then.

VSL - I too am going to email Virgin regarding the change in tickets and the obvious change in prices, if you do the same let me know how you go on. :wizard: I still have the brochure from last year and in the small print under the price of the holiday it states that the price of the holiday takes into consideration the £260 per person for the Disney Ultimate Ticket - I remember calling in July last year to find out if they substract that price if you didn't want the tickets and the lady I spoke to said yes!! So I am with you and Andrea we should be in for a refund but they have a way of getting themsleves out of loop holes like this!!

Hi all,
have just recieved an E-Mail from Virgin in which they state,

"You will recieve an accomodation voucher with your flight tickets. You give this voucher to your Disney resort hotel reception and they will give you your room key card, which you also use to gain entry to the parks"

Hope this helps clear some of the worries up,

Kevin :cool1:

I'm assuming this information relating to tickets on room keys is only for packages booked before MYW was introduced? Is this standard for new packages too?

How did this get so confusing ?:confused3

Many thanks for all replies to this thread, seems to be helping a lot of people,
Claire

How long does a 14 day ultimate park ticket last?

What I'm really asking is this: If I use the ticket at 6.00pm on the Saturday that I arrive, will it be valid until 6.00pm on the Saturday I leave?

Or will I have to wait until Sunday for it to last until the Saturday?

I think I really know the answer, I just want it confirmed. :jumping2:
