We just got back from our fantastic holiday this morning.

We used the twilight check-in at Gatwick and asked for the exit row which we were told we could have but for a charge of £50 per person. Virgin apparantly started charging for this a couple of weeks ago.

We flew back in Premium Economy which I thought was well worth the extra money :)

How much did the Premium Economy cost if you don't mind me asking? I'm flying with Virgin next year.

bloody cheek IMHO

   We just flew back - Premium Economy - on Saturday with Virgin and, although we had reserved seating, when we got to Miami airport we asked if it was possible for DH to have one of the exit seats - he got one in row 75 (only one available mind you. . what a coincidence;)) - and didn't pay a penny.

Sounds rather fishy to me, worth checking out with Virgin HO?

We only flew one way and I think it was about £170 each, it made a nice end to the holiday

PS They may only be charging for exit seats out from the UK or possibly just in economy (we flew out economy) but they are definately charging.
