Just checked Virgin Atlantic flights Gatwick-Orlando flying out Monday 5th November and returning Monday 19th November and the regular flight in economy is quoted at £493.70 while the Miles plus Money is coming out at £495.70, that's more expensive by £2.00 and you use 2,000 miles instead of earning 4,336 miles + 4 tier point(s).

Also checked Premium economy and that is similar, £893.70 for a cash only ticket plus you earn 10,840 miles + 6 tier point(s) whereas the Miles plus Money ticket cost £27.00 more at £920.70 and you use 7,500 miles.

Has anyone experienced this before?

Could they're in the process of reducing the prices so over the next few days we might see a reduction on the Miles plus Money prices?

I too have found this. I am currently saving miles for our next holiday but when priced up I was exactly the same price as the without miles.mm

When they have a sale they don't always reduce the m&m fares.

That PE fare is most certainly a sale price.

If you are happy with the price book without the miles.

Not sure that it will help you in making a decision, but we booked for 1st-18th November on 31st January and paid £476.50 M+M.

I wonder if VA and BA are going to announce a sale and are still loading the fares into the system? Two days ago I booked Club World with BA for end October and they were a lot cheaper than CW tickets I have already bought for next January . Both sets of tickets used Avios points for an upgrade.

With Virgin, I've sometimes found when they announce a sale, the M&M price does not come down straight away and when/if it does, it might only be £40 or so (PE) - rather than the £200+ I expect to see. I'm only talking during school term time though.

I agree with Elise79 :wave2: about booking without miles if you are happy with the price.

Miles Plus Money now reduced in November to £459.20 for Economy and £792.20 for Premium Economy, still a tad too expensive

sometime the m+m prices are a bit more than non m=m this is to do with the class of ticket being sold
