What are Virgin giving kids on the flight these days? We still use backpack from 2003 holiday and don't know whether to pack it this time or will we get a new one? :confused3

i think you still get the same type of stuff as they mention it in their brochures and online :goodvibes

:rolleyes1 just found it online, couldn't find it at all earlier!!! Nice bag, but looks like we'll still have to bring extra bits to keep them occupied :thumbsup2

im hoping son might watch a film this time :)
i took loads of games but never used them.
colouring books are always a great idea. :)

Definately take other things too.
I have colouring books, new pens, magazines, sticker book etc for my two also DD (8) will have her nintendo DS.:thumbsup2

Agree with above poster - contents of bag are rubbish really - a book, an activity book like you get at Pizza hut, a bracelet type watch thing and a multicoloured pencil/crayon thing - bag is nice though..... take plenty to keep them busy - remember it's not just the plane.

We were caught up in the snowy stuff at start of April !! (see trip report in sig) SEVEN hours in a very crowded Gatwick departure lounge then cancelled so a full 24 hour delay - BOY were we glad of the Nintendo DS and colouring and stickers and books and snacks and .......

I wouldn't rely on the Virgin Kids pack's as they ran out of them on the flight out to Orlando last summer so my kids didn't get one. It didn't matter as we had other stuff with us and having had a quick glance at the contents of another child's, it seemed to be the same book etc as our flight in 2004 :)

We took Top Trumps cards, thin story book's and colouring book/pens and between that and the t.v's, my kids had a great time.

My DD's were 2 & 4 last year and nothing in those bags was suitable. We took small polly pocket sets which they played with for ages, they watched the films :thumbsup2 and did lots of colouring, snap cards and eldest loves to play dominoes......
You will need more than those bags...

so is it just me who says, dinner then sleep then film...?
i knock mine out with travel sickness drugs so they get 2-3 hours sleep and then tv films.
josh copes badly on planes so i have an excuse for drugging him, i am just a bad mother with the others;)

Hiya - Sorry, don't agree with the drugging option, but anyhow on the plane we have no probs - food, relax, movies etc- but it is at the airport in event of delay that the pre-thought-out entertainment comes into its own..... as I said before - 7 hours stuck on the floor of Gatwick departure lounge wasn't fun - but at least the kids were entertained and happy .

As we only visit every 3 or 4 years my kids do a lot of growing in between trips. We're planning to go next year and I realised today that I've started eyeing up puzzle books and games for the journey before I remembered they'll be 15 an 18 next year - I don't think colouring books will go down too well!!

The bags were good the contents were rubbish in October/November. going there were little computer games as an option on the screen instead of a film (Pirates of the Carribean, Harry Potter and computer games lasted the flight!!!) Coming back no games as an option on screen but still good films!
