Virgin from Gatwick

Hi all,

I thought there was a similar thread to this out there but I couldn't find it so I've started another one!

We'll be flying to MCO from Gatwick with Virgin in a couple of weeks. Does anyone know if those pesky delays that I've heard so much about have settled down yet? Also we haven't flown with them for years so I was wondering what your recent experiences of Virgin service been like?

I returned with them on Sunday from Orlando on VS28 and that was an hour late. I don't know about other dates (and you are right, there was a thread recently which told you how you could find this historical information) but our outbound flight 'only' had a delay of about 40 minutes. I consider we got off lucky with those delays

Seems if you are travelling with Virgin you must accept that you are likely to be watching the BA flights leave on time whilst you sit there twiddling your thumbs. On the plus side, we did get to select our seats (my reason for switching from BA) in advance.

On the outbound flight we had no sound on our monitors so they brought us portable DVD players. On the return flight they announced they were travelling with a skeleton crew and asked for understanding. However, I have no complaints and found them as cheerful and as helpful as I normally find cabin crew.

Our flight last Thursday was also just over an hour late. I think they must be short of crew as well as we had announcements both ways that they had crew members missing.

We also had no sound on our TVs coming back.

Not exactly filling you with confidence are we.
