Now that we have these flying cards are we supposed to call and get the flights added or do we give the card on check in.

Hi,

The air miles should be automatically added to your account after you have taken the flight. Out of my family of five there is usually one of us that didn't get automatically credited with the miles,so I always phone to check when we've returned anyway

You can call Virgin before the flight to ask for your VFC number to be added to your flight details,I guess this might be worth it if they are considering any upgrades at check-in

You can put the points on through the flying club website and also add them to your membership no more than 6 months after the qualifying flight.

Hi,

As a VS FC member ( Gold) I always handover my card at check in just to be on the safe side ( when I make reservations with VS I give them my number).

The miles for VS flights usually post a couple of days after the flight. I check my account on line and if not posted within 30 days I give my helpline a call. I also keep all boarding passes and hotel receipts until the appear on my statement.
