Virgin Fly Drive with no car!

We want to book for next Summer but if we use our points for miles plus money option with Virgin Atlantic we have to pay the whole amount now. If we book a Virgin flydrive but book the car seperately direct with Dollar ourselves do we have to let Virgin know before we go? If we do it as a holiday we only pay the deposit now!

We only qualify for the basic car with Virgin but like to upgrade to a 7 seater. Our son has a wheelchair and its easier with the bigger car. If we upgrade with Virgin I'm sure its more expensive than booking direct with Dollar for the whole fortnight!

Has anyone else done this and are Virgin ok about it?

Lots of us have done it but if you tell them I believe they charge a fee as you are turning a package into a flight only. We have done it a couple of times but just book car elsewhere and dont collect the Virgin car. I have priced up for next August for our 25 night trip, VH want over £800 for the 25 nights, Airline network is £540 for the same car with the same rental company, Dollar.

We have done this twice. Just dont tell them and simply do not collect the car.

No they wont. It will cost them way too much. Technically it doesnt cost them anything well Virgin anyway.

Both times we did not. Nothing was said when we checked in at MCO. Dont worry.

Just dont book any insurances when you book the fly drive. Opt for 7 days free hire with no upgrade.

You will be fine.
