Hi,

Just a quick question. I'm on a Virgin flight next tuesday (6th may) from LGW to MCO. There are two flights that day. I booked the later one (13:00) as it was about £70 cheaper at the time through the Continental website, now the prices for the two flights have met in the middle. So I was wondering if I turn up earlier at the airport is there a chance I can talk my way onto the earlier flight? I've checked availability on seatcounter.com and there are 9s across the board.

Cheers
James

Wont happen if you turn up, call them but you are looking at admin charges all the way so close to the date. Maybe you will strike lucky but no way if you expect to change a scheduled flight at the airport.

ok, thanks for the info. I'll give them a call later and see what they say.

It is possible to be offered a change of plane at the airport because I remember Mandymouse saying that in her trip report at Christmas. They were supposed to fly out on the second flight but were offered seats in the earlier plane at Manchester.

Cheers for that info. I'll probably just turn up early at the airport and try my luck. I rang virgin and they want £112 extra each to change flights.

Thanks
James

all depends on the fare code and restrictions you have on the ticket

If the call centre are saying £112 then I doubt it will change at the airport

In my experience of working for VA its sometimes more expensive to change at the airport and can take a while as they will have to call the callcentre

Guess I'll just have to try my luck. The worse that can happen is they say "No" and I have to sit around another 2 hours. You don't ask you don't get. I was traveling between Frankfurt and London for a year. I used to treat those flights like busses. Turn and and get on one. :thumbsup2:)

James, please don't think I'm interfering here, but I couldn't help noticing that you put Tues 6th May,,, you do know that Wednesday is the 6th don't you??

I've only posted because I had a friend completely miss her holiday because of a slight mix up in days and dates and I'd hate to see it happen to someone else....

Its more likely of course that it was just a typo, but just wanted to check :rolleyes1

whoops, sorry. I'm flying Wed 6th May. I was getting confused because I'm flying 5th May back to the UK to get the flight to Orlando the following day.

Sorry to hear about your friend. That is terrible thing to happen. :sad1:

Whew!!! Glad to hear it :D

Yeah my friend was gutted, poor thing, she turned up at the airport a day late and there was nothing she could do. She couldn't even afford to book another flight out to start her holiday late. I make sure I double, triple and quadruple check my dates now!

Have a great trip :goodvibes:
