Hi all
After our first ever holiday to the Sunshine state last year we just cant get our heads round going anywhere else this year although we have looked but the whole family is saying Florida :yay:
About to book flydrive to Orlando for August and have read about the 15% virgin have offered in the past at easter !
Can anyone tell me if this a regular offer this time of year and if so what day are we looking at Easter Sunday or Monday ?

Mo

Hi Mo :wave2:

I think it might have been Easter Sunday. Anyone else know?

As with all things it's never guaranteed but they do seem to often do this at Xmas / Easter etc.

When they've offered thse discounts in the past, have they been instead of any frequent Virgin discount, or can that be applied as well?

I'm pretty certain it's either / or Hilary, unfortunately.

I guessed as much, but there was just a small glimmer of hope ;)

What about on-line discounts? Or has the offer been available only by phone?

And I'm assuming this is Virgin Holidays, but has it ever applied to Virgin Atlantic for flights only?

I presume the 15% discount, if available, is shown on the online booking where the 5% usually is. Is this the case? What I'm trying to say is, do you just go onto the website on Good Friday, Easter Sunday etc and see if it's 5% or 15% that's on offer?

I booked via the Virgin website last year to take advantage of this offer. It was 15% off on Good Friday and I was mad as a wasp at missing out but then they repeated it on Easter Monday. As I recall there was no pre-warning, it just appeared as a notice on their site on the actual day.

I'm afraid the other posters are correct, this is instead of the FVC 10% discount, not as well as, but still well worth having.

What is worth noting is that I booked the main holiday with the 15% discount and when I rang Virgin several months later to make an alteration by adding a few extra nights at a beach resort, i still got my 10% FVC discount. Did try for the 15% again but they were having none of it :teeth:

I've been looking for Virgin flights for August too, but found that flight only prices were much cheaper than the fly drive prices even factoring in the extra cost of the car. From recollection I was quoted something like £1900 flight only for 2 adults, 1 teen, 1 child; £2600 for the fly drive package. (We fly out on the 25th for 1 week). I've ended up booking a fly drive with Airtours for £1500. I've never flown charter into Sanford before so whether it's worth the saving remains to be seen.

Good luck

We have had no problems with Sanford airport, it is geared towards the tourist so you are just off the plane, into immigration, pick your bags, they are then scanned then you are out for your car. It was a very quick process. Your only drawback is about a 40 minute drive down to Orlando but we have never felt this was a problem.
