Our tickets arrived this morning from Virgin Holidays, but there is no mention whatsoever of the Downtown Disney early checkin, and no voucher for it that we have gotten in the past.

There is still reference to this facility on the Virgin Atlantic, and Virgin Holidays web sites, but I am a bit concerned that the closure of the Virgin Megastore has also meant the end of the early checkin.

Anyone heard anything about it ?

There was a discussion on another forum about this just before Xmas as we got our pack from Virgin but no Voucher, there were lots of us without, some rang up and got them posted others just turned up and had no problem. Its on your reservation and they know how you booked. We ended up not using it again, lines were too long.
Not heard anything about endeing the service, seems very popular.

No, not at all.
Virgin DTD Checkin is still operating.

This is run by Virgin Atlantic, not Virgin Holidays or Virgin Megastores. Its actuallyy behind La Nuba rather than the Megastore

Do VH still give out vouchers?

no of us got them last year either but family had no problems, its on your tickets that its a vh booking as its a different fare class

our tickets arrived yesterday and we received a voucher for downtown disney check-in!! just give them a ring.

We got our tickets today - no vouchers for DTD check in and none for transport to and from the airport!! i have already phoned up and they have said that they will send them to me:confused3

DTD Check in is there and will be in use all 2009 and all 2010, you should have vouchers sent to you from VH, but they know how you booked, customers using Virgin flights booking with other tour operators have to pay a fee.

For all Upper class customers of VA and VH its automatic,

I got mine+all my other vouchers in my pack-just give them a ring,i am sure they will send them out.I don't see how they can remember to put some in and leave others out :confused3.x.

Oh you would be surprised. I work for a mailing house and some of our girls have to be watched like hawks.

4 days till our trip to Disney and we got our Virgin check-in vouchers.:banana::banana::banana::banana:

Hi we have Prem econ virgin flight only -anyone know a tel number I can call to get the vouchers and how much they cost?

Thanks

BTW I did not know the virgin mega store was closing will it still be there this Aug? DVC members get discount there and I was hoping to grab some bargins:offtopic:

I believe you just turn up and pay as cost is in $'s for check in, hopefully someone will confirm.
That's what it was like on our last trip two years ago, we were with VH so had vouchers but others in queue were paying $5 per person.

Helen I am assuming you booked flights only and not through VH, if so you can use but you will not have vouchers, for Upper class flight only its included, last time I believe it was a small fee approx £5, payable there at DTD, but you might be able to blagg it there.

The only time I have used DTD when not on a VH package I flew UC not PE, thats why I know its included.

The situation regarding DTD checkin is as follows:

If you have booked a package with Virgin Holidays, the checkin is free

If you have booked with any other travel agent and are not flying Upper Class or Gold Card holders, the cost is $10 per adult (Children are free)

If you have booked flights direct with Virgin Atlantic in Economy or Premium Economy and are NOT Gold Card holders, the cost is $10 per adult (Children are free)

If you are flying Upper Class, the checkin is free

If you are a Virgin Atlantic Flying Club Gold Card holder, flying in any cabin class the checkin is free

Opening times are 08:15 to 13:00

Thank you for the information

Where exactly at DTD is it?

The dis is a wonderful place.:grouphug:

Its at the back of Cirque de soleil in what in other times is their valet parking area, so if you come into DTD at the Cinema gate, turn left and go down to teh bottom, near what is currently Virgin megastore and House of blues.
Park up in the main car park and cross over to the white canopy. there will be a big lorry there for the bags and red uniformed staff awaiting your needs :-)

I don't know if this will work, but its here

In fact, you can see the queue on Google earth to checkin! :-)

Ok, let me get this right. These vouchers are issued to any area other then economy. I think I read on the VA website that it costs £10 per person to check in at DTD. I am guessing we will have to pay this as we are in economy, right?

So basically, anyone on a VA flight can check in at DTD, right? Do you have to have vouchers whether you have to pay or not? I am only asking as this is our first time with VA and I am def. getting the impression their customer service is not the best. I am concerned that I should have recieved vouchers even though I have to pay.

This is off topic so I will start a new thread if nec., but I recieved vouchers for our 14 day WDW pass through the post yesterday. How do I transfer these into the tickets? There is no instructions and I know I wont get any joy from India;) We have booked flights, tickets and car through Virgin seperately, and we are staying off site in our own villa. I think India said something about a rep would meet us at the airport to explain things :confused3, really? I didn't want to trust that info it case it didn't happen then we would be completely lost.

Thanks
