I am interested in taking a cruise with virgin in the future.
If you have cruised with them did you enjoy it?
I have cruised with Virgin 7 times now and have 2 more on the books in the next year, so suffice to say, we love it.
Most everything is included. Gratuities are included, even on drinks, so a $10 drink is $10, not $11.80. WiFi is included, Fitness Classes are included, Soft Drinks are included, all restaurants are included. It's like the anti-RCL...
Also, the hammock on the balcony is not a gimmick. That thing is amazing...
What is the difference between Rock Star and Mega Rock Star?
Mega Rock Star is an upgraded Concierge over Rock Star. I believe Rock Star has some liquor in the room, whereas Mega Rock Star has a replaceable bar as well as unlimited drinks, but not 100% sure. Both get you into Richard's Rooftop (Private Deck area) if that is meaningful to you.
If you are not a Rock Star was it hard to get into dining, show, entertainment, etc?
I've never cruised Rock Star and never had a problem with any of it. Of course, I don't feel the need to cruise concierge on any line.
What did you think of their beach resort? How is the rock star area?
Bimini is beautiful and the food there is really good. Sodas are included for everyone and there are Coke machines on both sides, so that's a nice touch as well. Very similar to Disney in that way.
How was food versus other cruise lines?
Thanks!
IMHO, Virgin's food is much better than most other lines and their 6 restaurants (there is no MDR) would be considered Specialty Restaurants on other lines. The Galley is a Food Hall area that is much like the buffet, but a lot of it is made to order. The Ice Cream is hand scooped and flavors change daily. I highly recommend the Brown Butter Financier. There is also a Pizza place as well as the Dock on the back of Deck 7, which serves small plates (like amazing grilled shrimp) all afternoon.
