Hi, I have another question. Can anyone who has used this facility at Downtown Disney tell me where it is located? I've looked in the brochure and on the website but it doesn't help. We are hoping to try out this service so that we can have some time at one of the parks on our last day. Any comments on the service would be appreciated.
Thanks in anticipation,
Ali :flower:

They have their check-in desk in the car park just at the Cirque de Soleil. Just used it on Monday of this week. Would be a good idea to get there early as there was a queue when we arrive at about 9.15am. It opens at 8.30am.

You should receive a voucher with your tickets, otherwise I think the cost is $5 per person.

We used the service last year and it was a great benefit.

Although booking with Virgin holidays we never got a voucher but when checking in they never asked for one. We checked in about 11am after we got out our villa and it was great being able to get rid of our bags without worrying about leaving them in the car.

We used it last summer - we also didn't have a voucher, but wasn't asked for it! We checked in quite late - around 10-11ish I think and it was really quiet... we spent a lovely last day enjoying DTD.

We used the service last october it was free we didnt have a voucher.just remember everyone in your party has to be at the early check in.last year because we were staying on site i sent my DH down first they would not check the bags in untill i arrived.its a great service i recomend it it gives you extra time in orlando.

I think that they have included the previous $5 charge in your holiday/ticket price now though?

Beware, it is an open air facility and queuing in the rain ain't no fun. Check-in desks are under a canopy, but the queue is not. ::MickeyMo

We received vouchers for our December 04 trip and were asked to show them. A couple who didn't have them were charged $5 each (well, I saw money exchange hands anyway!)

We used the service last April - no queue, no rain, excellent service!

BUT we didn't have vouchers and we all had to pay, even the kids!!

Still definitely worth doing just to get rid of the bags. :cool1:

According to Virgin, you have to have booked either direct with Virgin Atlantic or Virgin Holidays to NOT pay $5 per passanger. If you have - and don't get a voucher - I'm sure there's some way they can tell on their system . . . or your invoice should suffice :flower:

We booked through Expedia for our December trip and had to pay $5 each, though they didnt charge me for our 2 year old, even though I had paid for a seat for him.

The kindly lady gave us bulkhead seats as well, so I was quite happy to cough up my $20 :).

Hi,

Thanks for all your useful comments. We will definately be using this service so that we can make the most of our last day without having the luggage with us. I picked up our tickets today :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: and we do have vouchers to use this service for free.

Yes, use it.
We were undecided but, at the last minute, took our bags to be checked in.
We were stopped from unloading the car as we arrived and told that our flight was delayed - another 36 hrs!
The point is, if we hadn't gone to check in, we would have got to the airport, given back the car etc and then had to wait for a coach back to ID before spending an extra day in the sun! Many people spent all day either driving to the airport, sitting in it or waiting for a coach transfer!

hi ali
we used it last year and found it great, we got to DTD about 7.30 ish (i like to be early) and we had about 3 families in front of us, we got the seats that we wanted and then we headed off to magic kingdom for the last few hours before heading back to all stars for our transfers :sad1:

UKTIGGER - did you still have an early pick up from allstars, I was thinking about doing the DTD check in but if the transfer back to mccoy is still so early that we'd be hanging around there for 3-4 hours then I might just leave it to check in at Mccoy????

hi carol

if i am remembering correctly you can change your pick up time with who ever is doing your transfers, i am sure the number to ring is on your pick up voucher, altough i can't remember what time we were picked up now but i do know it was better this way because we spent our last few hours in MK and less time at the airport :cool1:

hope this helps eve ::MinnieMo

Thanks Eve, just the info I wanted, God! aren't the DISsers great!
