Hi, We are planning to go to Orlando in December and 9 of us want to book through Virgin Atlantic. It is only possible to book 6 people at a time and I am worried that I will book 6 flights and then find out that there aren't any seats available for the other 3.
So my question is does anybody know if there is somewhere on their website where you can see how many seats are available before going ahead and booking? I've looked around the website but couldn't find this information but maybe I am missing something obvious.
I also wrote to virgin with a general enquiry and they just said that it's impossible to book more than 6 seats at a time which I already know.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Not much help for you but the website lets you book combinations of adults & kids up to a maximum of eight.

They do group bookings, some info here. I'd try this even though it states only for 10 or more, seems 9 is a missing link in their thoughts.
If you explain I'd have thought it would be OK.

Either that or reservations on 0870 380 2007 (0844 8110011 or 01293 473000)

If you post you specific flights and dates then someone may be able to find the info.

you can check on Continental Airlines website as they use the Virgin flights for Orlando. I think the website is continental.com but just google it otherwise. Go through their website as if you were booking the same flight as you need. When you get to the flight there is a tab that shows seat availability. I did this when booking my December flights and it showed that there was loads of availability, especially on the later flight. The flights will obviously have different flight numbers so just match them up with the times. Failing that you should be able to just booked on the phone with Virgin directly. Hoep this helps.

I had to do 2 bookings as there are 7 of us going. What dates are you going?I am going the 9th and coming back the 24th from manchester at 10.30 if thats any help.I looked last night as they had moved our seats and there were loads of seats left on our flights. I know when we came back dec 2006 there were loads of empty seats on the plane coming back.We fly back christmas eve this year and land christmas morning and looking at the plane coming back there seems to be loads of availibility.

Thank you all so much for the help. We are living in Mallorca and hoping to travel to England at the end of November and then get a flight to Orlando at the beginning of December from Gatwick so it is quite complicated to tie it all in.
I'll definiteily check out continental airlines for flight availability.
9 does seem to be the worst number to travel as not large enough for a group but too big to all book together. It's comforting to know that there is still a lot of availability on the flights.
Last time we went 4 years ago the flights went down by 50% about 6 weeks before we were due to go so we wanted to keep an eye on flight availability and book as late as possible in case they reduced the prices again. We also have to watch the flights from Mallorca to England to make sure that they don't get filled although it's usually ok at that time of year.
We stayed in a lovely villa on Emerald island last time and the price of them also goes down as you get nearer the date.
So hopefully we will get a bargain somewhere along the line :) but it's a bit nail biting meanwhile.
Thanks again for the help and happy holidays to you all.
