I have just looked at my Virgin Atlantic Flying Club details and realised I have 4224 of unused points, they have an expiry of 10th September 2012, my query is this can I use them towards a flight for Oct 2012 if I book before Sept 2012? Has anyone done this before or are they to be used as in you must fly before this date?

I've found the answer on Virgins website: -

Q. How long are my miles valid for?
Your miles will not expire providing that your account remains active. To keep your account active, you need to continue to earn or redeem Flying Club miles, as each mileage transaction will ensure you a further 36 months of active Flying Club miles.

So I've applied for a Virgin White Credit Card and will use it once to get the 3000 points and then cut it up :rotfl:

You just need to book before they expire, doesn't matter when your travel dates are.
If you don't see an offer to use your miles then look at options to extend the expiry date, I use a VA credit card most months so my expiry date is constantly extended to 3 years from me using the card. Cheapest way is probably buy a track on Itunes, that will extend your miles 3 years.
