do you mean a 340-300 (there is also the 340-600)...

the following link is from www.seatguru.com
it shows the layout for the Virgin 340-300
http://www.seatguru.com/airlines/Virgin_Atlantic_Airways/Virgin_Atlantic_Airways_Airbus_A340.php

they also have the layout of other Virgin aircraft if you're on a different one (just follow the links at the site)

We have been on the A340 - 600 coming back from New York. The aircraft is very long and we were seated at the back we seemed to have to walk miles to get seated!!! No real difference from the 747 - apart from no upstairs. DH says he did not find the seats as comfortable as the 747 but I did not notice any difference!

Hi thanks for the replies-yes it is the 340-300 :rolleyes:Thanks for the links Disneyholic.I hope the seats are comfy, we'll be flying for 11+hours-lol :goodvibes

We flew out on the airbus with Virgin to NY in 2003, good planes and good for room. I nearly died with laughter when I saw the size of the loo, you could of had a party in it :teeth:

Claire ;)

no idea mate - but they are BIG planes!

enjoy!

Longer than a 747 thats for sure

:cheer2: Hi, thanks everyone-we really were'nt sure whether we had drawn the short straw or not, but our minds can be rest assured now-lol :cheer2:

How many of you are there HT?

Claire ;)

Being part French, they, like French cars rattle a bit after a few thousand miles of use :sunny:

Personally I prefer the 747, and it does depend according to regular flyers of them, on which version of the A340 you get. Just be glad that its not the A340-300, which is hated by most people who fly on it.

Edit: Whoops! as Virgin only fly the A340-300 and A340-600, you might need to check which one you are on! :rotfl:

See what people who have flown on them think of the seats here

Flight VS007 LHR-LAX seems to be split at the moment 44% of the time a 7474-400 and 56% A340-600

VS008 LAX-LHR is 37% 747-400 and 63% A340-600

VS023 LHR-LAX is 26% A340-300 old UC and 74% A340-300 UCS

VS024 LAX-LHR is 22% A340-300 and 78% A340-300 UCS

(Thanks to the guys at V-Flyer for this)

If there are 6 of you then either plane wll be ok, hopefully if 747 can get 3 and 3 both with a window or maybe on the Airbus a 2 with windiw thed 4 in the middle, unless really lucky and get 3 lots of 2 all by window :)
