For all of us traveling on the new A333 here is one of the first painted pics up on airliners
Looks spectacular and love the reg G-VSXY "Beauty Queen" princess::thumbsup2 Another here

how do i know? i cnt look at our seats as i have two infants

We are on one of these too! I'm really looking forward to the new planes!

Really looking forward to flying on this plain, its not the first time I`ve flown on an A330, but this time will be better, for the last 4years I`ve worked at airbus, and building the A330 is my section, so without a shaddow of a doubt I will have been part of the team that built these wings for the 10 virgin A330 planes that they ordered. they also have loads more of different planes ordered.

I think the situation is not decided as yet. It seems to be Manchester on the early flight and a bit of Glasgow and Gatwick mixed up. Only two aircraft coming at first then it seems like they will have a bit of leeway to refit a 747 or two. Some other of the order will go on lease but this could change at v short notice..

I know the A330 is a lot more efficient, but i love flying on the 747.As an airline pilot friend of mine said " The Boeing 747 is a proper plane, drawn up by proper draftsmen".

I like the look of the new planes but I like the jumbos as well although I do think they need updating.

Does anyone know if there are any details of the IFE for future flights on these planes out yet?

yes, my pilot friends say the same thing...that the plane of planes is the 747..

and a pilot i sat next to on an airbus last year....he was deadheading to wherever....anyway, i asked him what sort of plane he flies...he responded an airbus A300....
so i asked him what his favorite plane is and he said, with his eyes all dreamy, in this voice that sounded like he was talking about a woman, "the 747"...
i had to laugh....

plugging in the USB to the screen sounds really good, I will be taking my hdd with me in that case, the kids will love to be able to watch their own movies on the flight.

I wouldn't worry about the tapping on the screen - we have flown Continental the last three times with these screens and honestly you don't notice it, my DS was behind me and he was 3 on the last flight and he wasn't exactly gentle but I didn't notice it! :goodvibes

from what I have read so far is that the PE will have USB working but not Economy. Lets hope that isn't true, mind with my track record about being on in planes I will be frightened to plug anything in "just in case" :lmao:

Cant wait for the tap tap tap on the seatback.

Love the 330, flown on us airways, bmi, thomas cook airlines and my travel. I love the wingspan. It was always an ambition to fly on the queen and got that with virgin in 2009. Hapy to be back on the 330

I have to say that I was a little annoyed when I went to book my seats that the only pair of seats left was at the back of the section by the toilets, then my mum pointed out that at least no one would be pushing/kicking the seat from behind!

I'm confused (doesn't take a lot :lmao:)
This is from the link posted earlier, the way I read it you will have a USB in economy and in PE you will be able to plug your phone in? Maybe I'm not reading it right?:confused3

We're very excited about our new A330 aircraft, which will be available for you to enjoy from April 2011. But the best news is yet to come! As well as the comfortable Premium Economy and Economy seats, the planes will also be fitted with the Panasonic eX2 inflight entertainment system.

The new system will give you full connectivity onboard, including the ability to make phone calls and send and receive texts and emails using your own mobile devices.

You'll also be able to plug in a USB and view your own content on your seatback screen and in Premium Economy and Upper Class, you'll also be able to plug in mobile devices to play music, videos, pictures and documents!
The new cutting edge system will even allow you to read film reviews from leading critics and rate films yourself while creating playlists and catching up with live news updates, destination videos, and interactive maps.
