Just had a quote for the above and I'm surprised at the total cost for a fly-drive. Far more expensive than I'd estimated !

I'd based my own estimate on the 2004 prices in the 2nd edition (1/04 to 4/05) brochure and the price we paid in 2003. Someone in a previous thread commented that the prices hadn't changed much but that's not what I found. Travelling 30/6/05.....

The adult price is £549 - up from £489
The child price is £339 - up from £199 !!!!!!!! An extra £140 !

That's an extra £320 for my family of 4 (one DD will be 13). No early booking discount either unlike in 2003 for same period.

Not seen the brochure yet but need to get my thinking cap on - and none of this includes getting from Edinburgh to LGW ! BA Hols may get my business this time.

Weve just booked with Virgin(again), and had to pay adult price this time for DS(ouch!!)

We did get a 5% discount and free insurance.
I know Virgin are alittle more expensive to others, but the perks of twilight checkin,Downtown disney checkin, luggage allowance, and their services to the disabled, get my money everytime!::yes::

Hope you manage to get a good deal.

Expedia beat my Virgin quote by over £400 (even after online booking discount and Frequent Virgin Discount). The only snag is, you cannot change the booking once it has been made, plus you have to pay for the whole thing at the time of booking  .

GarryK, We too are very surprized at the price we were quoted by virgin for may 2005.
My husband shopped around and after a few calls was quoted a price £600.00 lower .
The Flights were eactly the same, car hire etc.you would think by booking with Virgin direct you would get the best price, but as ever that is not the case.
It is only a matter of time before people finally realise that they can save a packet by shopping around and doing it theirselves, what then will become off the big companies that promise you the big savings ?!!!

I agree that the 2005 flydrive prices are......Ouch!::yes:: For a fly drive in October it was £1,125 for flying PE.When we book the PE at the 11 month out nmark we've never paid more than £750 for a fly drive.

I would really like to get it booked now but just can't justify the difference in booking it directly with Virgin now:(

I've done it

I've done it

I've done it

Fly out on 11th May 2005 for 17nights. We've booked thru Virgin direct and got a good discount as we're now frequent flyers. I agree that the Fly-Drive prices are extortionate as there are no teen prices, but the prices for the All Stars Sports weren't too bad - only 53 weeks today to go

I'M SOOOOOOO EXCITED
