Has anyone done the VIP tour/guide? I saw the rate is $85/hour, is there a minimum?
do you really "go to the head of the line"
are you guaranteed seats at the live shows

We are traveling with 2 GGrandmas, 4 todlers and 6 adults. I'm thinking this may be money well spent if they can get us to the must do attractions.

comments, suggestions, help

thanks,
jo

There is a minimum of 5 hours and they must be consecutive. You can't do 2.5 hours in the morning and then another 2.5 in the evening. You can pay for all day and then take breaks.

VIP Tours do not provide front of the line access. The guide will get your fast passes for you and use his/her knowledge of the park to maximize your time.

If your tour extends beyond 5 hours you are asked to include your guide in any meals you may partake of.

After you schedule your tour, you will be assigned a guide and you will be sent some paperwork to fill out-it asks your favorite rides, which characters you want to see, stuff you don't want to ride, shows you want to see, shows you don't want to see, etc. This helps the guide plan the tour.

You are given preferred seating for select shows, parades and fireworks.

Hope this helps.

Thanks that information is very helpful.

I'm still weighing the cost/value relationship = my DH thinks its waaay too extravagant.

Anyone else have views on this.......is it worth it.

thanks
jo

In my opinion it is not worth the money for the average family. VIP tours are usually used by celebrities and executives who need an escort thru the park.

Also keep in mind that those prices do NOT include ANY TICKETS at all.

Plan your own itinerary and save the money.

I think it's worth the money. If you don't like lines, this is as close as you can get to front of the line access.

You also get to talk to your guide, learn things about the park you are at and relax.

The tour is for up to 10 people so if you have 2 families that can split the cost it is even better!

We were going to do a VIP tour in a few weeks but it is going to be terribly hot and I did not think my children would last the 5 hours. We are doing the Family Magic Tour instead.

Hopefully, we will schedule a VIP Tour for October. All of the communication I had withe the VIP office was excellent.

Well your last post may have been the deciding factor ~~ there will be 12 in our group, if they count the two toddlers.

Also you are correct about lasting 5 hours.......rats, because I think I was just getting my DH to go along with this plan.

What about the Hunt thru Disney (not sure of the correct name)?
Does the search go on any rides or just a meander thru the park?

thanks again,
jo

I don't know if the young children would count in your group total. I think they only count them if they are over the age of 3.

You can certainly take breaks for as long as you like. You just can't say you want to do 2 hours of the tour in the morning and 3 hours in the afternoon. If you pay for at least 10 hours then you split the hours up.
Here is some information the VIP Tour office sent me.

Remember, you don't have to stay the entire 5 hours. If you want to leave after 4 hours, you can, but you will pay for five.

I've heard wonderful things about the guides. They really get to know you and make you feel like family while you are on the tour.

Here is some more info.

How much is a VIP Tour?
The price of a Walt Disney World VIP Tour is $85 p/hour. If called in with less than 48 hours notice: $ 95 per hour. The hourly charge covers up to 10 people, if the group has more than 10 people they will need an additional VIP Tour Guide. The second VIP Tour Guide will be charged at the same rate as the first VIP Tour Guide.

Is there a minimum number of hours for a tour?
The minimum number of hours for a VIP Tour is five (5) consecutive hours per day. There is no maximum; guests can stay with their VIP Tour Guide as long as they wish.

Are VIP Tours exclusive?
Yes, Disney’s VIP Tours are private. The VIP Tour Guide will be assigned only to the family/party booking the tour.

Can the VIP Tour Guide escort Guests to the front of the lines?
Currently the Walt Disney World Resort does not offer a service that allows guests to bypass the lines of our attractions. The VIP Tour Services Program offers the most efficient way to experience our vacation kingdom. Disney VIP Tour Guides can enhance their guest’s experience in our theme parks by:
A) Using their knowledge of our property to device an action plan that will allow guests to see the most attractions in the least amount of time.
B) Assisting their Guests with Fast Pass by managing the system and doing all the groundwork for their guests.

Where should the Guest meet with their VIP Tour Guide?
The meeting location varies according to the guest’s needs. VIP Tour Guides can meet their guests at any location in our theme parks. VIP Tour Guides can also pick up guests at their hotel and provide private transportation to the Walt Disney World Resort (please see VIP Transportation for details).

What time does the tour start?
The guest determines the starting time for the VIP Tour. Guests can decide if they want a morning, afternoon, evening, or whole day experience. During certain holiday periods guests will be encouraged to start their tour at park opening, this will ensure that they get the most out of their VIP experience.

Can the Guest take a break during their VIP Tour?
Yes, but since the VIP Tour Guide will be on-hold for the guest during the break, the guest will be charged for those hours. If a guest is utilizing a VIP Tour Guide for more than ten (10) hours in a day, they will not be charged for the time the guest spends on break.

can this VIP tour cover more than one park at a time? and if so which transportation do they use?
