VIP Tour Price Change

Yikes - we WERE looking at this for August, but no way am I going to pay that much... or have a tour for that long (six hours just seems like a long time to me!)

They should honor the price you were quoted and charge more for the new bookings. (I hope!) Are you going to call to check?

From what I gather, they basically take you around the park. I don't really understand what the hoo-ha is for that much money...

Now if they let you eat at club 33 for lunch or something, I might consider it..

I saw a news article (from my google news alerts) that DL will be offering a major tour in the future where eating at club 33 is part of it. Let me see if I can find the article...

<Edit>

Found it!! http://travel.latimes.com/daily-deal-blog/?p=1023 Though $750 is a price break compared to the almost $3000 price tag on this. But it looks like a totally different experience than reg tours.

Wow that's pricey though! the cheapest is projected to run $1900? Thats a month of rent! (here in overpriced costa mesa!)

As I mentioned I wrote a letter to Disneyland on Monday.

Here's what I wrote:

I am in the process of planning our 8th annual trip to Disneyland park.
It is without a doubt our favorite place for a family vacation! Each
year I have started trying to do something unique and special. Over the
years we have done the Candlelight Processional, Christmas Tour,
Discovery Magic Tour and PS for Fantasmic. This year I was seriously
considering the VIP Tour. However, I just learned of the price increase
and extended minimum hour requirements so I am terribly dissappointed. I
would like to hope that maybe Disney will reconsider their actions
because such an increase really is pretty much out of reach for an
average park goer such as myself. Of course, if their goal was to make
it only more available to people with more money I suppose they will
succeed, assuming that Disneyland is where such people will be looking
to spend their money. I can see how rising costs might warrant an
increase but $50 per hour? and with no added benefits? and adding an
extra 2 hour minimum. I love Disneyland with a passion but even I am
not sure I would need a tour guide for 6 hours. If public opinion counts
for anything, please add my name to the list of folks who would love a
chance to take the tour. However, unless management determines that the
rate is a bit too high and reduces the hours back to possibly 4 hours I
guess I will just be out of luck.

Oh well, I tried.
The Tour in Walt'sfootsteps is starting to sound better and better.....

The blog just says 'visit' club 33. It doesn't include lunch - I'm nearly certain. Adventures by Disney is the tour, and they do a great job on their other tours, so I expect this one would be great too. It's a six day, all inclusive tour that encompasses Holllywood, Disney Studios and Disneyland. there are lots of behind the scenes stuff. It is not a "Disneyland" tour put on by Disneyland.
There are a few DISers that are taking this tour. Perhaps they can tell us about it when they get back. (I believe they are going in Sept.)

I did email my contact and they will honor the price we were quoted. I am glad I booked when I did!:upsidedow

That's great news! I can't wait to hear all about it when you are back.

Have a great time :)

Yea, the way it is worded it sounds like you'll just walk in, see it and leave. I wouldn't be surprised.

BradK is doing this ABD tour this month. I'm sure he'll do a trip report with photos. He takes the most amazing photos! :thumbsup2
