We are going to do the VIP tour and I have a few questions:

How far out can you book it, we plan on going Aug 1st

Is it worth it , tour, quick queue to the rides, all day dinning plan is included

We just did the VIP tour on December 30th (the group tour, not the private one).

I think it's worth it if the park hours are long that day (so you have time to make use of the quick queue) and you were planning to do the things like feeding the dolphins. If you bought all of the things it comes with then I believe that would add up to close to the price of the tour.

The important thing to know before you book it is that there is nothing 'special' that you couldn't do just as a regular guest. You don't get any special interactions or anything like that.

What you do get (and what we loved on such a busy day) is the bulk of your day planned for you to get the shows and interactions done and then you can do the rides before or after the tour. You are seated in the reserved seating at the 3 shows so have great seats without having to get there 45 minutes or more early, and you get to immediately feed the dolphins, sea-lions and stingray without having to wait in a giant queue.

I did find it disappointing that we didn't get any special interactions that regular guests don't get, but that was my own fault for not reading up enough about it so I just expected it to be like backstage tours I'd done.

Interesting. I did the VIP tour back in 2001 and we got good seating at the shows (I was actually part of one show with shamu (got to touch him/her) and got drenched by them. They took us throughout the park and we got to touch a penguin. They also took us to the front of the line for rides. Lunch was included

Sounds like now it's a guided tour, feed some animals, good seats for shows.... Then food and rides are up to you the rest of the day. Or during the 6 hour tour is there rides included

Yeah a guided tour is definitely what it is now, no touching penguins - we didn't even get to see them. We only had time for 1 ride, that was Turtle Talk. We did the rest of the rides after the tour.

We were given an hour for lunch and just sent of separately with our All Day Dining pass to eat on our own.

From the sounds of it, the way they do it now might be a little bit disappointing compared to what you did before.

Ya sounds like what I've done before is now what they call the private VIP .

I still think with only being at seaworld for one day before we go see the mouse the VIP tour will still be good... I think the kids will like it.

How far out from when you were going to be there did you book your tour?
