VIP fastpasses :-)

We were hanging out at Downtown Disney on a day that we would not be visiting any of the parks. My husband wandered over to the DVC booth and signed up for a timeshare tour/presentation. We had time to spare and they could take us right then. We spent a very pleasant time visiting with the timeshare salesperson, no pressure (you are not allowed to buy anything the same day as the presentation), got a nice tour and at the end after we were treated to ice cream sundaes we were given 4 VIP fastpasses to use and delivered back to Downtown Disney. Supposedly they were only to be used for 4 attractions but we used them more than that. Often the person at the fastpass gate just waved us through. On a busy July afternoon my kids rode Rock 'N Roller Coaster 3 times within 45 minutes while the wait line was an hour or more. Those passes were like gold to us.

That's a wonderful way to ride the rides and experience all that you can. I hope we are awarded some.

Thanks for the tip! What did the fastpasses look like? I was under the impression it was a card (like a KTTW) that could be used to obtain fastpasses. Is it not? And did they have an expiration date? I'm guessing since you went on the DVC tour on a "non-park" day that you didn't use the fastpasses until later in your trip.

Anyone know if you can do the tour more than one time (separate trips, several months apart)?

we did this exact same thing back in May this year.. its an awesome way.. it was such a life saver for us too... it was like gold!

Most CM's didn't want to use or slide it through to count against us.. so we also used it a lot too... they look like a credit card.. but are used for this person only.

I posted when we returned about this too.. its an awesome idea! WE also had the option to choose $15 gift card for each person in our party but chose the VIP passes.

I agree, the VIP passes from the DVC tour are great. But, they are even better when you leave a DVC resort with the passes, AND the DVC tote bag which costs a mere $xx,000! We took the tour a two weeks ago at SSR and ended up buying into the DVC right then and there! Boy, what crazy things a Mom and Dad of four will do when you get them alone for a bit while the kids are away playing in the clubhouse playroom, huh?!?!?

Oh, well, the DVC was a good deal for our family, being that we are planning to vacation in Disney for years to come, so we caved and bought! However, if we had chosen not to do so, we would not have felt pressured at all by the DVC people. The tour was wonderful and relaxing and we did not feel forced at all...We just decided to splurge!
