VIP Cleaning

i was reading about it in the H1N1 thread....and someone said it is only available if you have a medical condition. seems like we all deserve VIP cleaning with the high prices of resorts.....i am also interested to hear more about it

never heard of such a thing. i would hope all rooms are cleaned to some sort of standard. i always take a quick peek at everything when i enter a rented room, make sure everything is "surface clean". wash your hands and take your chances (unless you are actually immniosurpressed... HIV or chemo, etc)

Scroll down to the Disablilities board. They can probably help.

Because we had some issues early on with our reservation, I am working with a Disney Guest Relation person. She has helped us with several things for this trip. I asked her if they could please have a clean bedspread on our bed and to make sure the bathroom is extra clean. She said you want the VIP cleaning. I said they don't have to scrub everything, I just want to be sure those two things are taken care of. She said she would take care of it. I looked it up on google and there is a form that you can fill out and it has the VIP cleaning on there. You can get different kinds, depending on your reasons. I am not afraid of germs, I just want a clean room.

It probably depends on the circumstances. I'm sure that they can change the bedspreads and extra-clean the bathroom without doing a VIP cleaning. VIP cleaning is basically only available for people with medical issues, and has to be approved by Disney.

I googled VIP cleaning at Walt Disney World

That's correct -- it's for special needs only.

Has anyone ever requested the "VIP Clean - for allergies"? That is one of the options on the disney request page.

Last year when at the Poly's laundry room a man came in washing sheets, towels, wash clothes etc in the washers...I must have had a strange look on my face & he informed me that the guests arriving had an allergy issue so he was doing the laundry in a special detergent for them- he was a manager. I would contact your resort & let them know about the allergies. They were concerned & seemed to be doing a good job-I would consider that above & beyond.

I just called and did that this week. My ds has severe allergies, dust, mold, tobacco products, fragrances, etc.

They were super nice and helpful.

If you don't need allergy cleaning, please do not ask for it.

The special level of cleaning they do for guests with true respiratory, allergy or immune system issues is specialized care given to guests who NEED extra assistance. Disney does not value them anymore then anyone else. They are accommodating health problems.

As the mother of a son who truly cannot stay in a room that has not had special cleaning, changed out linens, sanitized carpeting, freshly cleaned curtains, air filter switched out, wiped down walls, etc I PROMISE all of you I would rather have to call down and ask for a fresh bedspread if I were grossed out by the thought of someone else having used it before then have a son who has reason enough to NEED a specially cleaned room. My son was taken by ambulance from a Ritz Carlton and a few years ago while staying at the Contemporary we had to rush him in and have breathing treatments/injections/oral steroids administered while staying in a room that wasn't given an allergy/asthma cleaning. It was after this event we learned about VIP Cleaning services. For our family, the special cleaning has made the difference between us being able to vacation or not.

If everyone who just wants a clean room (and I don't argue this, Disney should give EVERY guest a clean room) asks for this service, it will not be possible to make sure that those who truly need it get it.

Of course, no guest should suffer dirty towels, linens or carpeting...but the industry standard is that clean towels, changed sheets, the use of cleaning products and freshly vacuumed floors are considered a clean room. An allergy cleaning goes far beyond this.

As far as VIP cleaning, do any of us want to pay the prices Disney would start to charge if they were expected to provide that service to every single incoming guest? Imagine the wait for check ins then! ;) Seriously though, a clean bathroom is something every should have. If you ever show up and your room is not clean, get them to rectify it instantly. I don't mean to say anyone should vacation in a less than clean room. HOWEVER, don't abuse a system set up to help those who have real medical needs to make sure they do it. I would trade any of you my 'ultra clean' Disney rooms if you are willing to trade your children's easy breathing to my son.

** One last note before I close: I am not saying that anyone who has posted is planning on doing this...I am aware however, that many people read public boards and it is a worry for me that this offering may be taken advantage of and not be available for those who really need it.**

Trust me. Now that's it's been posted here, everybody will be requsting VIP cleaning!

How sad a reflection that would be on those who don't really need it. I would assume though that most DISers (and people in general) are not trying to take advantage of services provided to people with medical needs. I know there is 'one in every bunch' but I am going to chose to believe that people will not abuse it just because they know it exists.

I have seen posts about VIP cleanings on the DIS for years. This is just the most recent discussion. Let's all hope that people will not take advantage and start requesting services they don't need.

I DO think they should go through the rooms & do more dusting though....this last trip we had to move the couch/futon b/c we thought we dropped a phone down the back & when we moved it...yuck!!! Alot of dust & broken candy back there. We also noticed very dusty lights on the beds-now I do think the rooms should be clean-no matter what level resort you stay in-I have never heard of VIP cleaning-I wouldn't ask for it but if I saw a dirty room I would let the desk know. The curtains did need a washing too. JMO.

Not just that, but it would make check in times later & check out earlier that would probably be a cause for some to be mad. I am glad that our allergies aren't too bad-glad to hear that your son was taken care of!

My son has a peanut allergy, but not to the extent that I think we'd ask for a VIP cleaning. Freshly washed comforter, probably. I think I remember the Rusty Scupper posting a while back about the two levels of VIP cleaning and one was much more intensive than the other.
