I recall a thread a while ago about purchasing the VIP booklets (for Aladdin, etc.) separately at WDTC in DTD - I think they were $10 each? Can't find the thread and would love any info. Thanks! :)

Walt Disney Travel sells them from their DTD venue and they were about $10.

I asked ahead of time, and this is the response I got from Disney:

Dear Brad,

Thank you for contacting the Disneyland Resort in Southern California.

These Magical inclusions are only available with a Walt Disney Travel
package.

What is your Walt Disney Travel package reservation number? So we can
assist you further.

Have a Magical Day!

First Day of Visit: 02/23/2012
Length Of Stay: 5

I am trying to find out if the $10 coupon books offering preferred
seating for Aladdin, Muppets 3D, a parade, and animation academy are
still available at the Walt Disney Travel Center in Downtown Disney. If
so, do they still have the coupons for the free pin and lanyard and
admission to MTTMM. We will be there in one week (flying in from
Texas).

So, I didn't even bother to visit their center while we were in DTD. They wouldn't fib, would they? I didn't buy a package through them, but I did order my e-tickets online from their site. A call to them revealed that this wasn't considered "a package". I wish everyone else better luck than I had

I asked ahead of time, and this is the response I got from Disney:

On Sat, I walked into the office in DTD, ask for them. They explained they were for packages. I explained I was an AP holder, and as such, can't buy packages. They asked what hotel I was at, I said Residence Inn. They said they aren't free, I said I know that and was willing to pay. They took my credit card, and I walked out with the booklets.

Did you have to show your AP's? If not, well, what's a few secrets between Disney fans?

If you plan to go to the office in DTD, check on their hours. When we were there 1-30-12 to 2-3-12, I believe they were open 9am to 2:30pm 7 days a week.

I was glad they were open when we had trouble with our hopper passes. We walked in shortly before they were to close. They were very nice and efficient in getting our passes fixed. They even gave us a few extra perks due to WDTC error with our passes.

I'm glad they have an office right there in DTD.

You were given the proper response. Nobody in thier email center is working behind the physical desk in DTD that sells them. The email center is trying to sell you travel products before you arrive, such as packages.

So many people have done this over the years, just go into the WDTC office in DTD and ask to purchase one. It doesn't require jumping through hoops.

They are $10 each and you will need one for each member of your party (each booklet is good for one person).

I don't think I did. But I did explain since I was an AP holder, I could not buy a package as the tickets would be useless.

Yes, they do have very limited hours. And they are on a side walkway so not easily seen. If you are walking from Disneyland towards the Disneyland Hotel, just as you start to pass what is currently Compass Books, turn left along the side and they are about 20' down the walk way.

For future reference, as them for their "Passport Plus" package. (They will usually say "Hang on, let me look for that" as they don't sell them that often.) It is the tickets PLUS the booklet and luggage tags, etc.. I do this one when ordering tix for family and friends. It is the price of the tickets plus $10 for the booklet and stuff. Doing it this way, the booklets are sent with the tickets to you.

I haven't purchased tickets yet. What is the best/easiest way to get the Passport Plus package?

I've just called WDTC (714) 520-5060, and tell them which tickets you want, and ask for the Passport Plus.

What's included in the passport plus package? I was just going to buy my tickets today! So happy I came here first!!

The passport plus package through AAA is different then the one you can buy through Disney. I just booked a package through Disney for DL this summer and with my four day park hoppers I got lanyards, luggage tags, 1 MTTMM, and preferred seating for shows at CAP. With every 3 day park hopper ticket or more you automatially get a MM pass(which has nothing to due with booking a Passport plus pakage). If you were go to Disneyland without a pre bought package through Disney Travel Co. You could go to the travel co office at DTD to buy the $10 passport plus. But in my opinion while I am glad I booked a package I think if I did not I would have to justify the cost of $10 per person and would I use all those extras???? Sometimes there are nice people on the boards that can even help you out with preferrred seating or MTTMM tickets. I think there is a sticky on it???pooh:

I got the Passport Plus ticket package for my trip last week. The person on the phone told me that it would include the lanyard, baggage tag, etc. But in the mail I received only the tickets and the VIP passes for the shows. A friend who traveled with us (who also got the Passport Plus Package) went to WDTC in DTD and asked for the other items. They gave them to her, including tix for TTMM, and then when they looked at her reservation info, told her that actually, those items are NOT a part of the Passport Plus package. However, they did let her keep them. I considered trying to get them myself (since I was told they were included!) but decided not to waste my time that could be better spent in the parks.

I love Disney but I do find the WDTC to be frustrating - a lot of misinformation including ticket packages, room types, etc. I don't understand why Disney has a travel company that is on a totally separate reservation system than the Disney hotels . . . but that is a whole different thread!
