hey everyone!!! we are on our way to Disney!! we've done the pin trading for our last few trips and plan to do it again this time... we just stopped at a Disney outlet and my son found a vinylmation he liked and purchased it.. I told him I thought he could also trade those so we picked up a few extras... my question is.. hows it work?? leave in box? special places u trade at? thanks! !

Vinylmation trading occurs in at least one location per park. There may be two different types of boxes. One is clear and one is black with numbers on it. With the black box, you pick a number and then the CM will pull the Vinylmation in that cubby. Now, the rules technically say you have to trade (regardless of whether you like it or not), but some CMs are lenient and let you choose whether to trade or not and/or let you pick another number. I always ask before I start the trade. With the clear box, you can trade for any one you want as long as the Vinylmation your are trading is not already in the box (i.e, you cannot give them one they already have).

I've never thought to offer them an unopened box, but I doubt they'd accept it. They need to see the Vinylmation to make sure it's not damaged or a duplicate of one they have.

The number of locations has been reduced, but I think there are still boxes at the Emporium in MK, Mousegear and one of the two stores at the entrance to WS (Port of Call or World Traveller, I can't remember) in Epcot, Villains en Vogue at DHS, and the main store (I can't remember the name) and the EE gift shop in AK.
