Vinylmation Character Signing Question

Hi! I had read somewhere on here that stated in WDW they wont allow the characters to sign the 9 inch vinylmations anymore. Is this true? Does anyone know if there is a rule like this in Disneyland?

We were there last month and didn't have any problems with getting ours signed
