Hi all,
I noticed in Carrie's book there is a vintage Rolls Royce and Model A Ford for rental. We did have a little more RSVP regrets than anticipated so we have a bit more money to maneuver now. Just curious though if any off site classic/vintage car rentals would be less expensive from Disney's prices? Anyone use offsite could give me an idea of cost?

Thank you,

Yes! We have the 1948 silver Cadillac reserved through VIP transport where Disney gets them for $540 which includes the 20% gratuity for a 3 hour rental. I don't know what Disney is currently charging but I know it went up and it was around $900 before.

Wow! That is a savings!
Disney has my daughter & her fiancé reserved for 4 hrs with a limo. Does 4 hrs sound too much? She has a noon ceremony. So I figure 10:30 to 2:30? I guess I'm trying to figure out why there is a 4 hr need?

And enjoy that car! We would love to surprise them. Hopefully VIP will get back to us Monday.

I've also heard of brides getting discounts by going directly through Cole's Classic Cars (which Disney uses). But if the event is inside a park, you'll need to book through Disney in order to get the car backstage clearance.

The 4 hours may depend on where your daughter and her fiance are staying and whether they want to go someplace else for pictures before/after the ceremony. If it's an Escape event they should only need 3 hours. For Wishes they might need more than 4 hours, unless they don't need a ride after the reception.

Thanks very much Carrie! Daughter has WP for ceremony and Ariels for reception. :goodvibes

I finally heard back from VIP (had sent email to wrong department). I have the 1948 Cadillac convertible OR the 1957 Rolls Royce Silver Cloud. HELP PLEASE!!!

Any suggestions from those who have seen or rented either. My husband and I are torn. Me Cadillac and he like Rolls. THANKS SO MUCH. I need to give an email reply back soon.

This is a surprise from the parents---they think they're getting the limo (which is also very nice). But we just very recently had a very sad event. One of our relatives and a guest at the wedding passed away on Saturday. My daughter is heartbroken over this (as we are all) just 38 days from the wedding. I know this car won't fix anyone's broken heart---but just want to do something nice for them now more than ever.

I like the cadillac but if I remember correctly from the website it's red... No me at my wedding it would matter what colour the car was based on my wedding colours but I'm slightly insane like that. I'm also really into the '40s so I'm completely leaning towards a car from that decade but again that's just me. You know your (daughter? son?) best so I'd consider it from their perspective or what you know of their taste

HTH

ETA I tried to look at Cole's Classic cars and the cars you mentioned aren't listed there. If they are ones Disney is sourcing from someone else then I have no idea what colour they but yeah... those are just my $0.02

Cole's seemed very nice but they did not have the cars we wanted (1938 Pontiac convertible or the Packards). So then I started looking in to VIP.

Here is VIP's Rolls Silver Cloud my husband liked:

We used VIP and they were fantastic!

Where they decently priced? I saw that Coles had a pricing packages for weddings, but I did not see one with VIP. Also, I have been reading your PJ and trip report. We have out in our priorities as the same ceremony and reception venues with WP and ADC. Any advice?

We were very happy with VIP for our daughter's April 3 wedding! The chauffeur could not have been nicer and very professional white glove service! I think his name was Doug??

The cost was $450 for 3 hours. However, we needed 4 hrs (between the WP and Ariels), and they charged us $150 for that xtra hour. Still for $600 and getting the '48 Caddy, it was less than Disney's price. And we could not have been happier.

VIP and Disney helped in keeping it a secret from the bride and groom. They kept the white limo on the BEO and sent me a secret BEO so my daughter would not see that the white limo was removed from Disney's cost. I would recommend VIP to anyone.

I love VIPs silver 1948 Cadillac convertible, but I'm not too inspired by the rest of their inventory. Cole's has a lot I like, particularly the entire 1940's line. I love the lines of that time period - very art deco. Especially the 1040 Packard Darrin - its so bright red!

I convinced my honey to go this route - he was initially thinking of a limo and was unaware we would have other options.

Just be aware when I contacted Cole's about their cars they said that they didn't use either of their Packards for driving events thus they were unavailable for our wedding... I'm still a year away so I haven't booked anything yet but will probably go with another one of their cars.

Yeah I just got their quote back from them yesterday. Such a quick response! Impressed :) Now that I am thinking about my transportation, how did the bridal party get to the ceremony and then to the reception? I will getting a motor coach for my guests, not sure whether to go with VIP or Disney on this either, but do not know what to do for transportation for groomsmen & brdesmaids. Any suggestions?

Wow - thanks for the info. I guess I could go with another one in their inventory because I liked plenty of them, but I'm glad you found this out so I didn't continue to fantasize about that cherry red Packard. :thumbsup2

Hi....we had the vans from Disney that carry 8 guests and used three of them. The cost was $40 each way per each van. Well under the cost of the motorcoach that was originally in our BEO. That tip came from Carrie and it saved us a good amount.
