Villlain Soirée at MNSSHP 2015??

It was by far the best experience we have ever had at Disney! it was incredible! We were inside the castle decorated for Halloween with Cinderellas step mother and sisters singing "We will never be royals" and playing the piano. All the villains came to our table and spent time with us and to top it off the table decore light up green drinks themed desserts like something out of a Pinterest party dream!! The whole atmosphere was magical!! Disney please keep making these experiences for the "dreamers"! Anyone who didn't like this can't be pleased!

If that's the best I can only assume you haven't done everything...nor have been a longtime traveler to wdw...

Very little of what they roll out now is close to "the best"

Well I am a long time visitor sine 1974 about every 5 years til 1997.. And I've gone at least once if not twice since a year since 1997. It was definitely one of the highlights for us and I am sad it's not returning. It was the BEST time.you have sour grapes! Just because u didn't like it or care for it didn't mean others had a great time. The best time.

Sounds like you missed it! So sad!!! It was once in a lifetime experience and because of all the whining about price etc looks like we may be the lucky few that got to experience it! The whole group (not overcrowded either) was into it. Singing along and laughing and having a magical time! It was really something you cant describe in words!! And if you see my status you will notice I have been several times and we always shut the park down! The monorail driver always asks us where do you want to go? Lol

I've never been to one of the hard ticket events but I have a hard time justifying a hard ticket event plus another large cost on top of that. Besides cost I heard a lot about people missing the rest of the Halloween party because of this dessert party. I think someone who has been in each decade from the 70s until now would be best to tell us how has Disney changed. And from those I've talked to that have been since the 70s is Disney has a changed a lot when it comes to value some for the better but obviously a bit more for the worse.

If you haven't been then how would you know? I had hoped they would have the rumored frozen soirée with Olaf etc. Hopefully they will have this one again too! I will post pics from last year when I am back at my computer! And the reserved parade area was really spectacular! We didn't miss out on any other parts of the party and this was actually the highlight of the party! This is what you pay the party entry fee to have a chance to be apart of! They had custom badges and custom menus with each families name printed on them! Nice touch! The lights inside the castle thru the windows were constantly changing from teal to red to purple! Really cool! Hope you all get the chance to experience it!!!

For my family of five the tickets for the Halloween party plus the soirée would just be crazy expensive. This is perfect example of Disney pricing out the middle class like the other thread. This is just not something everyone can afford, and frankly based on the reviews besides yours I don't see the value in it. The review from the Disunplugged podcast team said it just wasn't a good value.

I'm telling you you would have loved it! And I am the middle class! Yes it cost as much as 3 table service but I'm telling you it was really really fun! It was like your own private party at mk! Priceless!

New to posting here but I just had to say that the Villain Soiree was ridiculously awesome and totally worth the money. If they offered it again this year I would totally jump on it. My BF and I had the best time ever. It wasn't just a M/G in the castle..it was also a personal show. Every cast member there was super friendly and helped take pictures. The little trinkets we got were great. I personally would rather pay $100 extra to get a personal M/G with the villains then fight the crowd at the mix and mingle. I can understand why parents with kids would complain seeing as that's a LOT of extra money but for us it was great because we bought our own tickets. The only negative is that it DOES take up a lot of party time..but to be honest that's not a negative to me since it just meant I had to go to a 2nd party :) I've already bought 2 tickets to the party this year and I'm hoping there will be something awesome offered...esp with Oogie Boogie. Fingers crossed.

Oh my goodness my son would FLIP about meeting Oogie Boogie!

It was fun. I gotta say DUH to those who complained about missing parts of the party. The average person should realize this going in though. You can't take a 5 hour event and buy a 90 minute dessert party and expect to have another 90 minutes somewhere else, that's not logical. We scheduled it in and loved it. Should have gone twice. So fun! Value is different to all. I haven't missed a Halloween party I'm guessing sense about 2000. We do 2 each week of our visit. For us frequent flyers to the party it was added value.something different. I think it's similar to those who buy the wishes dessert party on top of their park ticket. No characters youre sitting outside in the heat no thanks. Did it once thought no value for us here... they ran out of snacks and some drinks. People crowded and blocked views!!! Won't do it again but I'm happy for those that find value in for their family..same with frozen fun etc... To each their own. the dis unplugged is hardly the end all of judge of value at Disney world. Everyone finds value in different things. Some find value in sunsets and rainbows some like thunder and rain showers again to each their own value.

Halloween and Christmas is just not a time that we typically travel so we have never been to either hard ticket event. We are summer travelers and I have done marathon weekend which I will be doing again this year. We also don't spend crazy amount we try to do as much as possible for as little as possible because that's what we can afford. Regardless of it is fun or not I just don't see the value in it for me.

If they can charge the highway robbery they charge for Chef Mickey's I don't really see the soiree that out of line with the current pricing of Disney. I do think it shouldn't cost more than the party ticket though. I hope it doesn't return not because it wasn't worth the value, but because I know I'll pay for it and my wallet has already been siphoned by the mouse a lot this year.
