Villians Sinister Soirée

No. I didn't even include the ones who are now at the dance party, but just not meetable in the traditional sense. The first 4 on my list you won't see at all. You will only meet 5 and 6 if you do the soiree.

Ok - so of those listed none are roaming the parks -- some only on stage in M&M and some nowhere at all?

So the WON'T SEE AT ALL category includes only the 4 princes - is that right?

A balanced review from mr. werner. :thumbsup2I wasn't expecting more than an hour @ CRT (perhaps because we rarely spend more than that for character dining).

Before I make a final commitment to keeping our ADRs, hoping to see more attendees (who attend during busier nights) post reviews with pics here, since I have several questions I hope they can answer:

1) Does the maximum guests in the viewing area equal capacity of CRT X2 seatings? (think that is approx. 240)

2) Exactly what area of the hub is roped off for soiree guests? Mr Werner's pics appear to be front & center vs what I thought was reported as a side portion where FP+ is currently located.

3) Do you need to arrive pre-7:30 pm to secure a curb side spot? How early did attendees arrive?

4) Is it the same characters in CRT each time?

That's correct.

Got it.

So, changes from last year are:

- 4 princes have been removed entirely -- FOR EVERYONE
- 2 villains only in stage in M&M, BUT you CAN meet ONE of them if you pay extra for the soirée

Is that right? Trying to get an actual summary.

So does that mean there's only ONE character restricted to those who pay extra?

Cupcakes, punch, mousse..... none of it would matter to me. I'd need at least a couple characters not available in the park on a daily basis.

I'll start:

1) Flynn
2) Prince Phillip
3) Snow Prince
4) Prince Charming
5) Maleficent
6) Evil Queen

Even if that's it, I think it's a pretty substantial cutback. Only 2 of those (Charming and Evil Queen) can be met anywhere outside Halloween (and some at MVMCP).

And there's my gripe in a nutshell. All they've done is repackage the characters that we saw included in our ticket at MNSSHP and put them in an upsell.

You can bet as successful as these things are ( no matter how many times they turn out badly), we will see more and more and more. Other posters are right- look for Anna and Elsa to be in some wonderfully marketed Christmas Extravaganza for MVMCP- at a bargain price of who knows how much.

We'll see how much the market will bear. As long as people are willing to pay, Disney is more than willing to continue doing it.

Every time I have stayed until the very end of a MNSSHP I had the pleasure of a near empty park. Security is very kind about taking some shots of the castle and the main st. There's places you can't go, and you can't dawdle too long but yes , plan to get great shots :thumbsup2 It's also one of the reasons we changed to a late seating.

Same here on the later seating

My info is two years old, but I recall Facilier, SQ, Maleficent, Cruella, Frollo, and QoH being meetable after VM&M. Aren't all of these now exclusively at VSS?

Hook (the last of the seven I remember after VM&M) doesn't appear to be anywhere.

Just trying to spin the spin the other direction. ;)

Don't think that's exactly right... If my back and forth w/mom2rtk is right...

Traditional meet and greets for the villains at the soiree are gone. Some of them may be at the dance party, but the meet option that existed after mix and mingle is gone. People may not have been.fans of how the mix and mingle was done, but taking it away has altered the availability of characters for meet and greets. I would bet that when the parties are.more crowded, photo ops at the dance party will be harder to come by.

Also,.it is 2 characters that are exclusive to the soiree. Maleficent and the evil queen can only be met at the soiree.

That's exactly how I would feel after booking. But in the end you can be disappointed in a global fashion, but still enjoy yourself at the event. In the end, a Disney trip is a huge investment, and you have to do what is best for you. FWIW, I have to think that larger parties would be more disappointed in this than smaller parties. I know we wouldn't do it if our entire family was along. If it's just 2 of us, I would be ticked off by the price, but could still make it happen.

Yeah. There's 5 of us. $500 for one hour just.... Stings my soul. But whatever. It's a one time thing.

Now... If the earlier party time would just open up!

Agree. I'm REALLY disappointed with this decision. And I'm a little disappointed in myself for booking the soirée even though I'm really against the idea of it, but I'd rather do it once then have the lack of villains taint my attitude.

Taking away the villains but not adding the princes back... Not cool.

I was very disappointed with the dangling carrot. Then the now you have it now you don't.

Not having the princes made it pointless to visit the princesses for us. At least Tianna ' s gazebo was decorated for fall.

At least I had that disappointment beforehand and was prepared.

All in all, the party was much better than I expected. We've never had a relaxing mnsshp. So that was nice for a change. Abs we went without any plan. Just did what didn't have a wait and it actually worked.

Understood. Just trying to be clear on what the actual changes are from last year:

- 4 princes gone for EVERYONE
- 2 villains now ONLY on stage for MNSSHP tix guests - 1 of them meet-able at the soirée
- some now at dance party but NOT guaranteed to be posing for photos at all -- not "meet-able" in traditional sense

I'd suspect the pool of people who now think the MNSSHP ticket they bought isn't worth it is extremely small. That's different than saying they'll all be thrilled that some things are removed/changed.

I would have been much happier if they kept the princes or had all villains meet-able. But this is far from a disaster or a significant reduction in value of a MNSSHP ticket -- IMHO.

And weren't these the two that were offered in exchange for removing the princes? So basically, they took away the princes, put in the Queens and then pulled them.

If one likes to meet villains, I disagree with this portion.

Hook is also removed and exclusive to the soirée. So, 3.
