villas within a resort?

I see that windsor hills is a pretty big and popular resort location but what are some others? Do we really need to stay at a villa thats within a resort?The villas seem to be so fully loaded within themselves! WHat are the pros and cons?

No you do not need tostay in a resort that has villas there are also neighborhood type villas that are equally as wonderful.

The first time we stayed in a villa it was in a neighborhood type setting.

I own in EI and have never personallt used the clubhouse pool as of yet and truly never probably will. Once at our home we just chill there. I am sure my children will as they get to be teens and want to venture away for a brak from mom and dad and my youngest took a walk with her granma and they went swimming in the pool but I think every home is so packed full of things you never have to leave to use any of the facilities.

I think when we have our full of the parks some day we might actually use the clubhouse and all the amenities but for now we are either at a park or in our own pool.

I have to agree we have rented in nieghborhoods that have club houses and pools but we bought our home in Indian Creek, and we do not have a club house and pool. We enjoy having the pool and spa to ourselves. That we don't want to share and be around other people.
I think most all of the homes have such great set ups that I am surprised anyone goes to the parks.

We really do enjoy the down time relaxing in our home. I think you will find that too when you rent a villa.

not sure by what you mean by "loaded within themselves"?

There are most likely other nice homes in the area for rent...sure... I can only speak to Windsor Hills that has the best of the "resort" type feel as well as the private home aspect....people on vacation to WDW seem to be looking for the best of both worlds that these kinds of resort communities offer.

The biggest pro, and simultaneously a con for us, is that there are other kids around for our kids to play with at the resort facilities.

We've stayed in neighbourhoods with and without the resort setup...and enjoyed both immensely.

I just have to give George a little poke though, too ....agreeing that those four areas probably get most of the "read time" here, and are "very niiiice", that there a ton of other developments and communities that are lovely spots to stay, and as close to other areas on property as well

Although I will say the pools in EI and Windsor Hills do look quite nice! I would imagine that they could be a whole lot fun and great way to meet other people!

Personally I am in the parks all day with many people on our down days we are just with people we know I like that better.

Haha, it's OK I can take it! Very very true statement, I am very careful on these boards though to only speak that which I know to be true, and not being an expert on any of the other resorts or areas other than Windsor Hills... I can only state that which I know about! Certainly not going to say something negative or speculatory about any place else I haven't been or stayed!
