Villa's on eBay

Has anyone had any experience of renting Villa's from people advertising on eBay? I've found Villa's ranging from £30 per night on there which is about half of what I've been quoted elsewhere

I personally wouldn't touch an ebay villa, if you are looking for a villa, look on villa owner sites and also the ones that you give your details in and all the villa owners reply, you will find that there is a great difference in price and some will email you again with a lower price, if you are going for more than 2 weeks some will give you discount as well.which are have you decided to stay at?

you need to narrow it down then, 2 wks in kissimmee-there are 3 main areas. formosa garden area which is towards the 27 just off the 192, highway 27 and then at the other end of the 192 ponciana boulevard and all the villa communities off it and also other villa communities around this area like chatham park, montego bay etc, these villas are older, but still just as good as the newer ones.
where abouts on the gulf coast were you thinking of staying?

We believe there is always a slight risk hiring a villa direct with any owner as you are never really sure what you get until you arrive at the front door.

As former villa owners ourselves, using eBay can be a very welcome income and relatively cheap to advertise. I would therefore recommend using eBay for a villa search.

We booked a 4-bed villa in September 2008 through eBay and had no probelms at all. It was for 10 days on the sub-division of Santa Cruz on the US 27, we had a fantastic holiday and it cost us £350.

wouldn't of said that booking with an owner would add any slight risk at all.. they will be on the florida register their details therefore can be verified. most these days have their own website so you can see pictures of the villa etc.
you got a good deal on your villa for £350, my sil had a 4 bed villa with spa for 23 nights for £1000 on cumbrian lakes last september booked direct with the owner, she is going back there this year as well-lucky thing!!

We booked a villa through ebay last May every thing was great paid £28 a night for a 4 bed on Sandyridge, there was alink to their own website I then emailed direct. It was a british person not american.

also we had a back up place in case of any problems, but as people have said if you deal with an individual their is no real garuntees that everything is okay.

Booked our villa for sep 2008 from ebay. The villa was perfect and the whole experience a pleasure so wouldnt hesitate in looking on thier again!

Hi all ebay is fine as long as you do some checks first. Get the owners address in UK and Florida, you can then check that all florida tax on the property has been paid and that its not for sale. I rent out my caravan in france on ebay and it works well as I can rent it out for less than I could if I had to pay a subscription to a caravan site. Good luck

i didnt book my villa last year through ebay but i did notice that the owner did advertise on there too, mostly odd dates and last minute cancellations though, but the villa was lovely.

i always panic over renting from someone anyway theres a certain amount of trust there, just like renting dvc points, it would just be my luck to be stuck, ive had nightmares about it, but once youve done it a few times it gets less panicky and easier not to worry.
