We recently changed our reservation from the WL to CBR, but are now thiniking of changing back. The only thing available is a studio at the VWL, which seems like it might be perfect for us since it's only the DH and I.
I have a feww questions though, that I'm hoping someone can answer for me. I did try to look these up to find the answers before posting here, but didn't have any luck.
First, I saw mention that DVC members do not receive daily maid service, but if you are not a member then you will still receive the maid service as normal, is this correct.
Are you provided with the soap, shampoo, etc., that is normally provided in the "resort rooms"?
I also noticed that in the description of the villas that it mentioned that the 1 and 2 BR's have a full washer and dryer, but not the studios. Do they have one at all, or would we need to use the laundry rooms over at the lodge.
Would we still be able to use the big pool at the main lodge, or would we have to use the DVC pool?
What are the bathrooms like in the studio units? I was able to pull up pics of the 1 and 2 br units and the bathrooms were huge, but I couldn't find anything on the studios.
Last question, what are any other differences in staying in the villas versus staying the actual lodge?
Thanks so much!

I stayed in a studio at VWL last September. The studios are laid out, and similar size to, a deluxe resort room, except that you have a queen bed and a sofa bed instead of two queens. It makes the room feel larger during the day when the sofa is folded. The bathroom is similar to a deluxe, with the tub/shower combo and toilet in one room, and the vanity/sink area outside in the hallway. You will have a kitchenette, with an undercounter refrigerator (larger than the deluxe resort refridgerators), microwave, toaster, and coffeemaker. There will be a dining table and two chairs.

You are allowed to use all the amenities of WL, so you can use both pools, the restaurants, shop, etc. In fact, you check in at the reception desk in the Lodge. You can get room service at the same times and from the same menu as the lodge. You use the same transportation, and have access to all the same recreational facilities.

I didn't have to do laundry, but I know there is a laundry room in the Villas and a laundry room at WL.

You do get daily housekeeping if you book through Disney, and you do get the shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, and soap that are put in the regular WL rooms. They will also give you more paper plates/bowls, plastic silverware, paper towels, and dishwashing liquid if you need it.

I have stayed in a 1BR at BCV, and will be staying in a 1BR in September at VWL. It is convenient to have a full kitchen and w/d in the room, but I don't spend the extra for it unless I'm going to be there longer than about 10 days.

First, I saw mention that DVC members do not receive daily maid service, but if you are not a member then you will still receive the maid service as normal, is this correct. I believe this is correct, however I have never stayed at the Villas section as anything other than a member.

Are you provided with the soap, shampoo, etc., that is normally provided in the "resort rooms"? Yes they are provided as normal.

the lodge. Here is an OPs response to your question that I located elsewhere " The laundry room is on the first floor of the villas, around the corner from the elevators. I popped in a few times and it never seemed crowded. I don't remember how many washers and dryers though, maybe 4 of each? I have never had trouble getting machines in any of the villas, I guess because most people have them in their one and two bedrooms. It is also pretty close to the villas pool, I don't think you would mind leaving your items."

Would we still be able to use the big pool at the main lodge, or would we have to use the DVC pool? You may use any of the resort facilities you wish.

What are the bathrooms like in the studio units? I was able to pull up pics of the 1 and 2 br units and the bathrooms were huge, but I couldn't find anything on the studios. Pretty much the standard bathroom found in the resorts.

Last question, what are any other differences in staying in the villas versus staying the actual lodge?
Microwave , refrigerator, iron.

Thanks so much!

Hope this helps some:thumbsup2

First of all you will LOVE VWL it is beautiful.

To answer your questions...

Yes you will have daily housekeeping, as long as you are paying for the room and not using another DVC members points housekeeping is included just like any other resort. The limited housekeeping is for DVC members and those using DVC points as it is a timeshare so it is "their home"...

Yes the amenities in the room are the same as the other resorts. You will get shampoo and soap, etc.

That is correct, the studios do not have washer and dryers, you would need to use the ones provided in the hotel (there are some in the Villas building you do not have to go all the way across to the Lodge to do laundry).

You are a guest of the Lodge... You can use all the amenities of both the Lodge and the Villas... Both pools are for guests of both sides as are the restuarants and room service... everything is shared.

The studio bathrooms are pretty much like the bathrooms in the regular hotels. Tub/shower combo, pedestal sinks, etc. They do not have the jacuzzi tub and are not seperated like the 1 and 2 bedrooms have a sink (dressing area) outside of the shower/toliet area.

The studios are larger than the regular rooms over at the lodge. You will have a little kitchenette with a fridge and microwave. They have a queen bed and a queen sleeper sofa, so during the day you can have a sitting area to watch TV rather than having two beds set up all the time. I perfer the studios just for the extra space and the kitchenette.
