The only "drawback" I suppose is that the villas are in a separate building with an outdoor--albeit covered--walkway to the main building and its amenities. For some, perhaps that would be an issue.
That said, the villas are terrific for all the reasons you describe and as described by others. Not unique to VGF, but the full kitchen means a real coffee pot; my fondest memories of our 2016 visit were sitting on the balcony with my morning cup or four, watching the boats on a glassy Bay Lake, and listening to (couldn't see it) the welcome song from MK because we just couldn't quite drag ourselves over for rope drop ... and had Fastpasses for later that morning anyway, so it really didn't matter.
Come on. Fantastic.
