I've just found a great deal for a 4 bedroomed town house at Regal Palms on this website.
Question is, has anyone used them?
Thanks.

Never used them. We always use www.villadirect.com and have always been very happy. We're renting a brand new 4 bedroom home (not townhome) with pool, big screen TV, spa, themed kids rooms, beautifully decorated, overlooking a wetland, and two minutes from Disney for only $130/night. Tough to beat!

We are seriosly considering a villa/house rental for our next trip. You can't beat the price for all the space, etc. Just one question--who cleans it? Do you get daily maid service, or just once a week? I certainly wouln't mind some general picking up & light cleaning, but I wouldn't want to be doing actual housework while on vacation!

Sorry, I have only dealt directly with the owner using vrbo.com and villas2000.com. We have rented 4 homes from 4 different owners ans it went smoothly each time. One of the houses was sold and another owner I can no longer locate. I guess they must turn over alot.

vhoffman, to answer your question, the home is cleaned before you arrive. You usually have a starter supply of dishwasher detergent, dishwashing liquid, maybe soap for washing clothes, paper towels and toilet paper.
We find we have to run to Publix for replenishing the supplies while there.
Once we rented a house for 3 weeks and I did have to clean up mid stay.
I think you can request housekeeping midstay from some management companies, you might want to inquire about that.

The other times we have stayed 8 or 10 days and cleanup other than running the vacuum (did that only once), running the dishwasher and washing and drying clothes. We always had a large supply of towels and pool towels.
What you do when you leave might vary, usually they don't want you to leave excess linens, but they don't expect you to wash everything or make the beds or anything like that.

I load up any remaining dirty dishes in the dishwasher and we go.

Actually, I would prefer to do my own light housekeeping, just general straightening up, light clean, make beds, etc. Of course, I don't want to be doing major housecleaning while on vacation, but it doesn't sound like that's the case with these rental homes. One of my pet peeves about hotel stays is housekeeping (or mousekeeping) always coming at an inconvenient time. Last stay at WL we were awakened 5 days in a row at 8 am by the mousekeeping literally pounding on the door. Nothing we did would deter them--they ignored the DND sign, we called housekeeping to request late housekeeping, they still kept coming back at 8 am. I asked them once to please come back in about an hour. As they left, I heard one say to the other, obviously loud enough for my benefit "Does she think we have all day?" When I'm paying $300+ a day for a room, I really don't like being made to feel I'm in the way of the staff!

I'm really looking forward to one of these house deals. They look fantastic and even the more expensive ones are cheaper than staying onsite at Disney.

Villa rentors.com is a site where you can list your rental and they take a percentage of the booking amount .All the information you receive will have been added by the owner so in effect you are dealng direct If you search you may find the same home cheaper as the owner will lose 10% of what you pay .

vhoffman you are correct when you about lighthousekeeping. In a rental home there is no ned to clean as you would at home just keep the place safe and tidy .They have dishwashers so just load them up and off you go .Other than that it is basic laundry -nothing else really needs to be done.I am always amazed that when in my home there how clean and tidy and dust free it stays compared to my home here inthe UK .

Thanks for that Jan :teeth:
I've had a look around and can't find the accommodation I want cheaper anywhere. The guy is offering a really good price for 5 days at Easter and the only place I can match it is with a 'special' offered by Bookit.com (surprisingly! )
I'd never heard of the site before but, when I try to bring up alternative accommodation for the 5 days, anywhere in a villa, I'm finding them to be a lot more expensive :confused3

It may be that villa renters is the only place he advertises -unusual -but he may like it that way there are degrees of use as an owner on that site.If it is a good price go for it- as a lot of owners won't take short stay bookings over major holiday periods

Through VillaDirect they come once/week. I suppose you could ask for more, but that would be extra. We've stayed there up to 10 days and never had a problem. It just didn't get that dirty.
