We will be at MK this Thursday but we did not purchase the after hours ticket. The park closes at 10 for nonparty people. After happily ever after, if we get in line for Mickey and Minnie prior to 10 will we be able to see them even if it’s say a half hr wait?

The Attendants will close the meet and greet line to regular guests - they time it so the last regular guests in line meet the mice at 10.

I read somewhere that day guests are allowed to enter lines up to closing, so if they get in line by 9:59 they would be allowed to ride or meet but would then leave. (Was trying to find it - I know it was a more official site though...)

I could be wrong, but I think the strategy of getting in line for something right at closing doesn't work on those special event nights.

FYI, the same setup applies for a MNSSHP night, MVMCP night, or DAH night as it does on any regular night, anyone can get in a ride line right up until park closing.

Our experience has always been that as long as you're in line before the park closes you should be fine.

Maybe we can squeeze one last ride or character meet...I guess I’m always use to doing one or two things after happily ever after before heading back to the bus. I guess it’s worth a try....

I did DAH last year and the line for Peter Pan was full of regular day guests at the start of the party. They had everyone in the PP line go before they let anyone from the party into the line (didn't even treat us like fast pass) to get guests out of the park ASAP. I'm assuming that the experience would be similar for other rides (especially less popular ones).

In all fairness, MNSSHP and MVMCP have the one-hour buffer between park close and the official start of the event, so day guests are mostly cleared before they begin (even if the guests got in line at the last minute). Most of the current AH events don't have that buffer - but Villains presents a different scenario as a "quasi-party" with event exclusive merchandise, food, castle show, ride overlays at Pirates and Space Mtn, and park transformation (i.e., park lighting and the Maleficient dragon) in addition to the rides. Adding the 1-hour buffer here would've made more sense (and they did it for the VIPassholder event at MK in April) - but I expect that the normal rules will apply as far as getting in line at the last minute (just as I expect -- quite reasonably -- complaints from those who paid for the Villains event about day guests still in-park after the event begins). They really should have closed MK at 9pm, done HEA at 9:15, and used the 9pm-10pm window to clear day guests after the fireworks.

Not true after 9:15 fireworks on Villains night so 10 pm regular close we rode Buz and then jumped on people mover at 9:59++!!! The cast members boss was telling him to start watching for purple bands - but we got on - then when we left tomorrow land they forced us to exit before crossing the regular bridge near the castle - but at the exit on Main Street we stopped for a few mins and watched the villains lights on the castle and listened to the music
