Villains After Hours - may be an obvious question....

My girlfriend and I both have silver APs. The Villains after Hours at MK this summer is during AP blackout dates. I read through the Disney website to buy tickets to the events, it lets me see an AP discount, and I searched the forums here. Is the event ticket the only one you need, or would I need to buy a park ticket for the day as well? My girlfriend reeeeaaaallly wants to go and keeps sending me hints. Thanks

You only need a Villains After Hours ticket to enter the park. Official entry is 7pm, in practice they usually let people in a little before. You get the AP discount on the event ticket regardless of the blackout date.
